In this report, three patients, admitted to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Ibni Sina Hospital, Clinical Bacteriology and Infectious Diseases Department, with the diagnosis of acute viral hepatitis A have been discussed because of their clinical and/or biochemical relapses. Following conservative treatment and bedrest, the liver transaminases decrease to nearly normal levels but a second peak was observed later in three of the cases. Other viral, metabolic and autoimmune factors which could lead to the increase of liver transaminases were ruled out.

Neoplasms originating in bladder diverticula are characterized by early transmural invasion and a tendency for higher histopathological grades, which make prompt diagnosis and treatment crucial in these tumors. Filling defects caused by intradiverticular tumors cannot always be visualized in intravenous urography and/or cystography. Cross-sectional imaging methods including ultrasonography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have been used singly or in combination in neoplasms of the lower urinary tract.

Arginase (Arg) activity in seminal plasma and sperm cells from infertile men and healthy fertile donors was measured. There were no statistically meaningful differences in seminal plasma Arg activity between the two groups whereas sperm cells from oligospermic infertile men had a higher Arg activity compared with the controls. Some important correlations were established between sperm count and Arg activity (negative values) and sperm motility and Arg activity (positive values) in both sperm cells and plasma samples from infertile men.

This study describes the relaxant response to acetylcholine, electrical field stimulation and sodium nitroprusside after contraction by phenylephrine (10(-5) M) in corpus cavernosum from control and diabetic rats. The response to acetylcholine (10(-9)-10(-3) M) and electrical field stimulation (0.5-64 Hz) is decreased and can be restored by the addition of nitric oxide synthetase substrate, L-arginine(10(-5) M).
