Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of functional electrical stimulation (FES) bicycle therapy system on motor function, gait pattern, spasticity, daily living activities, and aerobic capacity in children with cerebral palsy (CP) and to compare the results with sham stimulation and standard treatment.
Methods: Patients with cerebral palsy who received botulinum toxin type-A injections to lower extremities and those with Gross Motor Function Measure Classification System (GMFCS) levels I - III, were included in the study. Twenty-five patients were randomly assigned into three treatment groups for 4-weeks: Group 1, FES-cycling and standard treatment; Group 2, Sham stimulus FES-cycling and standard treatment; Group 3, Standard treatment.

Foot involvement affects mobility and functionality in patients with ankylosing spondylitis but it remains unknown if foot deformities in ankylosing spondylitis patients affect functionality, disease activity, and quality of life. The aim of this study was to evaluate in detail the presence of a relationship between radiologically detected foot deformities in ankylosing spondylitis patients and both clinical and electrophysiological findings. The cross-sectional study included 110 patients with ankylosing spondylitis who were diagnosed according to the Assessment in Spondyloarthritis International Society criteria and were followed in our hospital.

Our aim is to determine the diagnostic performance and utility of Diffusion Weighted MR Imaging (DWI) against the routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for the evaluation of patients with tendon injuries of the ankle and foot. After institutional review board approval and informed consent taken from all the patients, ankle and foot MR imaging and DWI-Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) mapping were performed on the 81 injured tendons of 50 patients. All tendon injuries were named as Rupture (R), Partial tear (PT), and Tenosynovitis (T).

Introduction: The transmission risk of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 virus infection is increased in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients, and also the disease causes much higher mortality than the normal population. The aim of this study is to define the predictive value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in terms of worse outcomes in MHD patients.
Methods: A total of 123 MHD patients who had received inpatient care due to COVID-19 infection were included in this multicentered retrospective study.

Methods: The study included newly diagnosed giant cell arteritis (GCA, n = 27) or Takayasu arteritis (n = 9) patients and healthy control (HC, n = 31) subjects. PET scan and blood samples were obtained before the introduction of treatments.

Introduction: Patients with AA amyloidosis may present with acute kidney injury that progresses to end-stage kidney disease in a short period of time. Acute allergic tubulointerstitial nephritis (aTIN) is a frequent cause of acute kidney injury in patients with AA amyloidosis. Although aTIN has a favorable prognosis in the general population, the course of aTIN in patients with AA amyloidosis was not previously reported.

Background: We aimed to compare the effect of dexamethasone (Dex), hydrocortisone (Hc), and methylprednisolone (Mpz) at equivalent doses on somatic growth, lung healing, and neurotoxicity in a hyperoxic rat model. We hypothesized that Mpz and Hc would be superior to Dex with less neurotoxicity by exerting similar therapeutic efficacy on the injured lung.
Methods: Neonatal rats were randomized to control, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), Dex, Hc, and Mpz groups.

We aimed to investigate association between mean platelet volume (MVP), platelet distribution width (PDW) and red cell distribution width (RDW) and mortality in patients with COVID-19 and find out in which patients the use of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) affects the prognosis due to the effect of MPV on thromboxan A2. A total of 5142 patients were divided into those followed in the intensive care unit (ICU) and those followed in the ward. Patient medical records were examined retrospectively.

Introduction: Lamotrigine, an anticonvulsant drug with inhibition properties of multi-ion channels, has been shown to be able to attenuates secondary neuronal damage by influencing different pathways. The aim of this study was to look into whether lamotrigine treatment could protect the spinal cord from experimental spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-two rats, eight rats per group, were randomly assigned to the sham group in which only laparotomy was performed, and to the ischemia, methylprednisolone and lamotrigine groups, where the infrarenal aorta was clamped for thirty minutes to induce spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury.
