Nutrition is an important factor that regulates the expression of several genes. The aim of this work was to analyze the effects of diets containing additions of different oils on the regulation of the adipocytokine signaling gene expressions in sheep longissimus dorsi muscle. Forty males and non-neutered sheep were kept in individual cages and fed under four different treatments: control treatment (concentrate and forage) and the other three treatments containing the concentrate and forage plus 4% oil (yellow grease, soybean and palm oils).

Studies related to morpho-physiology improve the understanding of biological mechanisms in non-human primates (NHP), contributing to research in several areas, especially those of assisted reproduction and biomedicine. The genera Aotus and Sapajus are important considerations in conducting studies related to reproductive biology and biomedical research, where animals of these genera can serve as models for species with vulnerable conservation status. The reproductive functions of animals of these genera can be used in conducting studies with other NHP species, for which biological material is difficult to access.

Laboratory of Morphological Animal Research (LaPMA), Federal Rural University of Amazonian, Belém-PA, Brazil.
The ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) is a Felidae of wide geographical distribution and food flexibility; therefore, it is essential to understand the morphology of the species. Thus, we aimed to describe its lingual morphology in order to gain information regarding the anatomy of this carnivore's digestive system. The tongues were removed for ex situ macroscopic and morphometric analyses, as well as for light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, of fragments of the different lingual regions.

Twenty isolates of Pasteurella (Moraxella) anatipestifer from ducks with serositis and septicemia in Thailand between 1988 and 1989 were characterized by various tests. Eighteen isolates fermented glucose and maltose, 3 fructose and 1 each mannose, arabinose, trehalose or sorbitol. All isolates produced gelatinase but not urease, while 2, 3, 5 and 6 produced indole, were CAMP positive, and were proteolytic for milk and coagulated serum respectively.
