Background: Haoqin Qingdan decoction (HQQD), composed of eleven herbs, is a traditional Chinese formula widely recognized for its efficacy in treating pulmonary inflammation induced by viral infections. Despite its extensive use, the potential pulmonary and intestinal protective effects of HQQD on influenza viral pneumonia (IVP) and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear.
Materials And Methods: Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS) was employed to identify the major chemical constituents of the prescription.

The treatment of complex or chronic skin wounds caused by burns, trauma, surgery, and genetic disorders has been a worldwide challenge. Small intestinal submucosa (SIS) is a biological material that is widely used in wound healing. How to further expand the wound healing application of SIS, especially in repairing infected wounds, remains a hot research topic for many tissue engineering and biomaterial scholars focusing on skin regeneration.

Introduction: Numerous studies have revealed that a long-term high-fat diet can raise intestinal deoxycholate acid concentration, which can harm intestinal mucosal barrier function in several ways. This study aims to verify the protective effect of GYY4137, as a slow-releasing HS donor, on microbiome disturbance and the chronic injury of the intestinal mucosal barrier function caused by sodium deoxycholate.
Methods: Caco-2 monolayer and mouse models were treated with a relatively high concentration of sodium deoxycholate (1.

Introduction: Restoring a balanced, healthy gut microbiota through fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has the potential to be a treatment option for sepsis, despite the current lack of evidence. This study aimed to investigate the effect of FMT on sepsis in relation to the gut microbiota through a sepsis model in juvenile mice.
Methods: Three-week-old male mice were divided into three groups: the antibiotic treatment (ABX), ABX-FMT, and control groups.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a malignancy that arises within the gastrointestinal tract. Despite ongoing research, the etiology and pathogenesis of CRC remain elusive; particularly, the distribution and characteristics of tumor-associated macrophages is currently an active area of investigation in understanding the pathological progression and prevention of CRC.
Methods: This study utilized CRC patient surgical samples, mouse models of colitis-associated cancer, colonic organoid, and co-culture cell line to examine the changes in CD11b/CD86 at different pathological region and detect the Wnt signaling pathway activity.

Background: The main causes of abnormal white matter development (periventricular leukomalacia) in premature infants are perinatal inflammation and the consequent oxidant/antioxidant imbalance in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs); however, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unclear. In this work, a rat model of prenatal inflammation was used to examine the mechanism by which artemisinin (ART) protects against white matter dysplasia.
Methods: We established a primary OPC model and rat model of perinatal inflammation.

The neuropsychiatric effects of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics have been gaining attention since the rise of microbial-gut-brain axis research. Nevertheless, some of the findings are inconsistent, and few studies have analysed the similarities and differences in the neuropsychiatric effects of the three comprehensively. To reveal the respective neuropsychiatric effects of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics and synthesise the similarities and differences among the three effects, 47 meta-analyses with 12 types of neuropsychiatric results were integrated under an umbrella review.

Lipid metabolism reprogramming stands as a fundamental hallmark of cancer cells. Unraveling the core regulators of lipid biosynthesis holds the potential to find promising therapeutic targets in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Here, it is demonstrated that platelet-derived growth factor C (PDGFC) orchestrated lipid metabolism, thereby facilitated the malignant progression of PDAC.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common and prevalent cancers in men worldwide. The majority of PCa-related deaths result from metastasis rather than primary tumors. Several studies have focused on the relationship between male-specific genes encoded on the Y chromosome and PCa metastasis; however, the relationship between the male specific protein encoded on the Y chromosome and tumor suppression has not been fully clarified.

Aberrant A-to-I RNA editing, mediated by ADAR1 has been found to be associated with increased tumourigenesis and the development of chemotherapy resistance in various types of cancer. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is a highly aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis, and overcoming chemotherapy resistance poses a significant clinical challenge. This study aimed to clarify the roles of ADAR1 in tumour resistance to cisplatin in iCCA.

We showed that microtubule-associated tumor suppressor gene (MTUS1/ATIP) downregulation correlated with poor survival in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients and that MTUS1/ATIP1 was the most abundant isoform in HNSCC tissue. However, the location and function of MTUS1/ATIP1 have remain unclear. In this study, we confirmed that MTUS1/ATIP1 inhibited proliferation, growth and metastasis in HNSCC in cell- and patient-derived xenograft models and .

Periprosthetic infection and mechanical loosening are two leading causes of implant failure in orthopedic surgery that have devastating consequences for patients both physically and financially. Hence, advanced prostheses to simultaneously prevent periprosthetic infection and promote osseointegration are highly desired to achieve long-term success in orthopedics. In this study, we proposed a multifunctional three-dimensional printed porous titanium alloy prosthesis coated with imidazolium ionic liquid.

Neuregulin-1 (Nrg1, gene symbol: ), a ligand of the ErbB receptor family, promotes intestinal epithelial cell proliferation and repair. However, the dynamics and accurate derivation of Nrg1 expression during colitis remain unclear. By analyzing the public single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets and employing a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model, we investigated the cell source of expression and its potential regulator in the process of epithelial healing.
