Background: As an important medical personnel training system in China, standardized residency training plays an important role in enriching residents' clinical experience, improving their ability to communicate with patients and their clinical expertise. The difficulty of teaching neurology lies in the fact that there are many types of diseases, complicated conditions, and strong specialisation, which puts higher requirements on residents' independent learning ability, the cultivation of critical thinking, and the learning effect. Based on the concept of ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation), this study combines the theory and clinical practice of flipped classroom teaching method to evaluate the teaching effect, so as to provide a basis and reference for the implementation of flipped classroom in the future of neurology residency training teaching.

Body mass index (BMI) is a crucial health indicator for obesity. With the progression of socio-economic status and alterations in lifestyle, an increasing number of global populations are at risk of obesity. Given the complexity and severity of neurological diseases, early identification of risk factors is vital for the diagnosis and prognosis of such diseases.

Postoperative gastrointestinal disorder (POGD) was a common complication after surgery under anesthesia. Strategies in combination with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine showed some distinct effects but standardized clinical practice guidelines were not available. Thus, a multidisciplinary expert team from various professional bodies including the Perioperative and Anesthesia Professional Committees of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine (CAIM), jointly with Gansu Province Clinical Research Center of Integrative Anesthesiology/Anesthesia and Pain Medical Center of Gansu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and WHO Collaborating Center for Guideline Implementation and Knowledge Translation/Chinese Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) Center/Gansu Provincial Center for Medical Guideline Industry Technology/Evidence-based Medicine Center of Lanzhou University, was established to develop evidence-based guidelines.

Objectives: To investigate the effects of the elongated needling at the points of hand and foot meridians and the Governor Vessel combined with the routine acupuncture therapy on pain, balance function and muscle strength of the patients with post-stroke hemiplegia and central post-stroke pain (CPSP), and to investigate whether its therapeutic mechanism is related to antioxidant damage.

Methods: Ninety-four patients with post-stroke hemiplegia and CPSP admitted from March 2020 to September 2021 were divided into a trial group (47 cases, 1 cases dropped out) and a control group (47 cases 3 cases dropped out). In the control group, the rehabilitation exercise combined with routine acupuncture therapy was used, and in the trial group, on the base of the treatment as the control group, the elongated needling at the points of hand and foot meridians and the Governor Vessel was supplemented.

Key Laboratory of Xin'an Medicine, Anhui Province Key Laboratory of R&D of Chinese Medicine, Ministry of Education, Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 103 Meishan Road, Shushan District, Hefei City, Anhui Province 230038, China. Electronic address:

Background: The tumor microenvironment (TME) of hepatocellular carcinoma is heterogeneous enough to be prone to drug resistance and multidrug resistance during treatment, and reprogramming of cholesterol metabolism in TME mediates tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) polarization, which has an impact on the regulation of malignant tumor progression. Arenobufagin (ARBU) was extracted and isolated from toad venom (purity ≥98 %), which is the main active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicine Chan'su with good anti-tumor effects.

Purpose: To investigate the regulatory effect of ARBU on lipid metabolism in tumor microenvironment, interfere with macrophage polarization, and determine its mechanism of action on liver cancer progression.

Chinese patent medicine (CPM) is a typical type of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation that uses Chinese herbs as raw materials and is an important means of treating diseases in TCM. Chinese patent medicine instructions (CPMI) serve as a guide for patients to use drugs safely and effectively. In this study, we apply a pre-trained language model to the domain of CPM.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system, and its specific etiology is still unclear. At present, it is believed that the main pathological basis is the reduction of dopamine concentration in the brain striatum. Although many previous studies have believed that iron as an important nutrient element participates in the occurrence and development of PD, whether there is a causal correlation between total iron binding capacity(TIBC), transferring saturation(TSAT), ferritin and serum iron in iron homeostasis indicators and PD, there has been a lack of effective genetic evidence.

Article Synopsis
  • Partial splenic embolization (PSE) is being studied as a potential alternative to splenectomy for treating hypersplenism, especially in cirrhosis patients, though some may still need surgery later on.
  • A study involving 321 patients compared those who underwent PSE before splenectomy with those who did not, focusing on postoperative complications and blood loss.
  • Results showed that the non-PSE group had shorter hospital stays and less blood loss during surgery, suggesting that PSE may increase the risk of intraoperative bleeding.*
