Background: Xiaohua Funing Tang (XHFND) is a decoction formula of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and possesses the potential to manage chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) with liver depression and spleen deficiency (LDSD), but the mechanisms were still unclear.
Purpose: Our aim is to reveal the overall synergistic mechanisms of XHFND against CAG with LDSD.
Methods: Based on a CAG rat model with LDSD, this study combined metabolomics, gut microbiota, and network pharmacology techniques to demonstrate the XHFND mechanisms with multiple components and targets.

Introduction: The internet has been increasingly recognized as a potential driver for enhancing cognitive functioning in older adults; however, the mechanisms underlying this relationship remain insufficiently understood in the literature. This study aimed to investigate the associations between different dimensions of internet use-activity, device, and frequency-and cognitive performance in older adults.
Methods: This cross-sectional study utilized data from the fourth wave of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), involving a nationally representative sample of 17,676 participants aged 60 years and above.

Medical devices (MDs) play a critical role in healthcare delivery while also bringing potential medical risks and unintended harms to patients. Although government regulation is well recognized as a critical and essential function for ensuring the safety of MDs in many countries, the supplementary role that hospitals play is often neglected. This paper constructs a tripartite evolutionary game model involving the government, hospitals, and MDs enterprises to explore their strategic behaviors of MDs regulation in healthcare delivery.

Objectives: To explore the mechanism of Granules (QJZG) for improving thrombocytopenia in a mouse model of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: Twenty-four MRL/lpr lupus mice were randomized equally into 4 groups for treatment with daily gavage of saline, QJZG or prednisone (Pred) or intraperitoneal injection (twice a week) of CaMKK2 activator, with 6 C57BL/6 mice with saline gavage as the control group. After 8 weeks of treatment, the mice were examined for PLT, PCT, PDW, MPV, serum levels of TPO, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α and IFN-γ, and calcium ion fluorescence intensity using ELISA or flow-through assay.

Objective: Studies have demonstrated a link between chronic inflammatory responses and diabetic microangiopathy, which include diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic neuropathy. However, it remains unclear whether there is a causal association between circulating inflammatory cytokines and the development of diabetic microvascular complications. This study aimed to investigate whether altered genetically predicted concentrations of circulating inflammatory cytokines were associated with the development of diabetic microvascular complications using two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and clinical validation.

Chaenomeles speciosa, a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) material, has the effects of stimulating the circulation of the blood and causing the muscles and joints to relax, as well as harmonizing the stomach and resolving dampness. It was first recorded in the Ming Yi Bie Lu during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and its cultivation history can be traced back to the Bencao Tujing in the Song Dynasty. Modern research mainly focuses on the producing areas of Ch.

Wilson's disease (WD) is a hereditary condition marked by abnormalities in copper metabolism, which precipitate a spectrum of neurological symptoms and cognitive impairments. Emerging research has highlighted ferroptosis (FPT) as a distinct type of programmed cell death, potentially linked to various cognitive dysfunctions. Nevertheless, the connection between FPT and cognitive impairment in Wilson's disease (WDCI) remains largely enigmatic.

Influenza pathogens cause many illnesses and deaths yearly, posing a serious threat to global public health. As a result, most studies are increasingly focusing on the role of specific CD4 T/CD8 T cells in combating influenza. This study examines the key themes and trends in this field using bibliometric analysis.

Background: The aim of this study was to build and validate a risk prediction model for aspiration in severe acute pancreatitis patients receiving early enteral nutrition (EN) by identifying risk factors for aspiration in these patients.
Methods: The risk factors for aspiration were analyzed to build a prediction model based on the data collected from 339 patients receiving enteral nutrition. Subsequently, we used six machine learning algorithms and the model was validated by the area under the curve.

The influenza virus is considered as a kind of significant zoonotic infectious disease identified to date, with severe infections in humans characterized by excessive inflammation and tissue damage, usually resulting in serious complications. Although the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammation after influenza infection have been extensively studied, bibliometric analysis on the research hotspots and developing trends in this field has not been published heretofore. Articles related to influenza and inflammatory response were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database (1992-2024) and analyzed using various visualization tools.

Background: Wilson's disease (WD) is a hereditary disorder characterized by an abnormality in copper metabolism. Liver fibrosis, and potentially cirrhosis, induced by copper accumulation are critical factors in the pathogenesis of WD. CircRNAs exhibit high stability and play crucial roles in numerous biological processes.

Background: Ovarian cancer is among the most prevalent malignant tumors affecting women. While conventional therapies like surgery do provide some measure of disease control, they are accompanied by evident side effects that may readily result in drug resistance. Cinobufagin (HCS) is a water-soluble active component extracted from the dried skin of the Bufo gargarizans.

Context: Our clinical observation found that JiJiaoLiHuang Pill (JJLH), a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation, can significantly reduce the abdominal circumference of patients with malignant ascites, increase urine output, and improve the quality of life of patients, with preliminary efficacy. But, the exact mechanism is not yet clear.
Objective: Based on the above observations, the potential mechanism of action of the treatment was preliminarily explored.

Osteoarthritis (OA), a common degenerative joint disease, is characterized by the apoptosis of chondrocytes as a primary pathophysiological change, with endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) playing a crucial role. It has been demonstrated that an imbalance in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) homeostasis can lead to ERS, activating three cellular adaptive response pathways through the unfolded protein response to restore ER homeostasis. Mild ERS exerts a protective effect on cells, while prolonged ERS that disrupts the self-regulatory balance of the ER activates apoptotic signaling pathways, leading to chondrocyte apoptosis and hastening OA progression.
