Problematic smartphone use (PSU) has emerged as a pressing concern among college students, with cumulative ecological risk identified as a crucial yet enigmatic contributor. To unravel its underlying mechanisms, we devised and validated a model that delves into the mediating roles of performance and learning goal orientations, as well as the moderating influence of psychological resilience. Our investigation encompassed 2011 Chinese college students spanning from freshmen to seniors, aged 16 to 25, utilizing comprehensive scales to assess various constructs.

Anhui Province Key Laboratory for Control and Applications of Optoelectronic Information Materials, School of Physics and Electronic Information, Anhui Normal University, Wuhu, 241002, China.

The study of solid/liquid interface is of great significance for understanding various phenomena such as the nanostructure of the interface, liquid wetting, crystal growth and nucleation. In this work, the nanostructure of the pyridinium ionic liquid [BPy]BF on different gold surfaces was studied by molecular dynamics simulation. The results indicate that the density of the ionic liquids near the gold surface is significantly higher than that in the bulk phase.

Background: The problems of students' social interaction and psychological well-being associated with online learning dependent on self-directed learning have become an important topic of research in recent years worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting their Social Emotional Learning. This paper aimed to compare the students' loneliness, social anxiety, social interaction, and general psychological well-being at different stages of online learning (at the beginning and the height of the pandemic), considering their criteria (presence/absence of a job and own family).

Methods: For this, the researchers conducted an electronic survey of students (n = 320) twice, in February and May 2020, using four questionnaires: UCLA loneliness scale-3, Social Anxiety Scale for E-Learning Environments, Social Interaction Scale, and Brief Adjustment Scale.

High-throughput 3D microfluidic chip for generation of concentration gradients and mixture combinations.

Lab Chip

April 2024

Picotecbio-Waseda Joint Research Lab, Comprehensive Research Organization, Waseda University, 94-A203, 1011, NishiTomita, Honjo, Saitama, 367-0035, Japan.

Concentration gradient generation and mixed combinations of multiple solutions are of great value in the field of biomedical research. However, existing concentration gradient generators for single or two-drug solutions cannot simultaneously achieve multiple concentration gradient formations and mixed solution combinations. Furthermore, the whole system was huge, and required expensive auxiliary equipment, which may lead to complex operations.

Background: Problematic smartphone use (PSU) has become a common phenomenon among college students. Fear of missing out (FoMO) is an important factor affecting PSU, but how FoMO affects PSU is not clear. Therefore, the mediating effect of positive and negative metacognitions about smartphone use (PMSU and NMSU) and the moderating effect of optimism are explored.

With the development of the times, spinal problems are not only one of the diseases that older people pay close attention to, but also gradually spread among teenagers. Therefore, it is very important to predict the possibility of wound infection in patients after spinal fusion and internal fixation. The method is to statistically analyze the clinical data of patients with clinical spinal disease, and to propose individualized treatment and recovery plan for each patient's pathological characteristics and postoperative recovery, so as to realize humanized service and minimize the possibility of wound infection.

The aim of the current study is to explore the number of classes of cumulative ecological risk with latent profile analysis. Furthermore, the relationships between the classes of cumulative ecological risk and problematic smartphone use (PSU) among 2050 Chinese college students were researched. The results showed that there are four latent classes of cumulative ecological risk among college students, namely, low risk - medium peer relationship risk group, medium risk - high belonging risk group, high identity risk - very high friend conflict risk group and high risk group, accounting for 11.

In this contribution, carbon quantum dots (CQDs) modified 3D-flower like BiOX (X = Cl, Br, I) photocatalyst were successfully prepared via a facile mechanical compounding method. The crystal structure, surface composition, morphologies, optical properties and photocatalytic activities were investigated in detail. The photocatalytic activity of the as-obtained photocatalyst were evaluated by degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and Levofloxacin (LEV) under near IR-UV-vis light irradiation, the CQDs/BiOX composite displayed enhanced photocatalytic activity as compared with individual BiOX materials.

The extant literature has focused on individuals' knowledge-sharing behavior and its driving factors, which stimulate the knowledge transmission and exchange in organizations. However, little research has focused on factors that inhibit knowledge sharing and encourage individuals to hide their knowledge. Therefore, based on social exchange and displaced aggression theories, the study proposed and checked a model that examined the effect of abusive supervision on knowledge hiding (KH) via a psychological contract breach (PCB).

An increasing digitalization in all aspects of life and work reshapes traditional assumptions about human creativity. Both scholars and practitioners raise many questions with regards to how to stimulate employee creativity in the digital work context. While there are many studies that examine predictors of employee creativity, little effort has been made thus far to synthesize these findings in way that would provide meaningful guidance to organizations and to provide bases for future research.
