The Serra da Neve inselberg in Namibe Province, southwestern Angola is the second highest peak of Angola with an elevation of 2489 m. It remains one of the least explored regions in the country, despite several endemic species having been recently described from this inselberg. Here we provide an inventory of the amphibian and reptile species ocurring in Serra da Neve and compare its fauna with that of the surrounding habitats at lower elevations.

As a result, these phylogenetic data are an incredibly valuable resource for science and public health. However, the vast majority of the data was sequenced by tiling amplicons across the full genome, with amplicon schemes that changed over the pandemic as mutations in the viral genome interacted with primer binding sites.

The purpose of the study is to assess the risk of developing general eating disorders (ED), anorexia nervosa (AN), and bulimia nervosa (BN), as well as to examine the effects of gender, academic year, place of residence, faculty, and diet quality on that risk. Over two academic years, 129 first- and fourth-year Uneatlántico students were included in an observational descriptive study. The self-administered tests SCOFF, EAT-26, and BITE were used to determine the participants' risk of developing ED.

Angola, a country grappling with prevalent tropical diseases such as malaria, is witnessing an alarming rise in cancer-related deaths. Despite the escalating significance of cancer globally and in Angola, the nation's medical schools lack compulsory oncology disciplines in their curricula. This absence compromises the comprehensive training of medical students, preventing the development of integrated perspectives and skills crucial for addressing the growing cancer burden.

The use of lipases from animal sources for the synthesis of new biocatalysts is barely studied in the literature. The present work focused on the immobilization of lipases from kid goat's and lamb's epiglottis in different ionic supports. For this, anionic supports (monoaminoethyl-N-aminoethyl-agarose (MANAE) and diethylaminoethyl-agarose (DEAE)) and cationic supports (carboxymethyl-agarose and sulfopropyl-agarose) were used.

Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) have been used for more than 30 years to improve magnetic resonance imaging, a crucial tool for medical diagnosis and treatment monitoring across multiple clinical settings. Studies have shown that exposure to GBCAs is associated with gadolinium release and tissue deposition that may cause short- and long-term toxicity in several organs, including the kidney, the main excretion organ of most GBCAs. Considering the increasing prevalence of chronic kidney disease worldwide and that most of the complications following GBCA exposure are associated with renal dysfunction, the mechanisms underlying GBCA toxicity, especially renal toxicity, are particularly important.
