Background/objectives: The main mechanism of the formation of granulation tissue is the progression of an infection from the tooth to the periapical bone. At this level, the immune system tries to localize and annihilate the microorganism's injury. Ki-67 is a protein directly associated with the cell proliferation rate, while CD34 is a biomarker involved in angiogenesis, and studies suggest that they both have a positive correlation with the intensity of the local inflammatory infiltrate.

Angiogenesis, primarily mediated by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), is a fundamental step in the progression and metastasis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Traditional anti-angiogenic therapies that target the pathway have shown promise but are often associated with significant side effects and variable efficacy due to the complexity of the angiogenic signaling pathway. This review highlights the potential of a specific splice form, , as an innovative therapeutic target for HNSCC.

This pictorial essay aims to navigate through the complexities and challenges of renal transplantation (RT), by weaving together visual imagery with clinical insights within a comprehensive illustrative surgical guide. Herein, we provide a detailed visual exploration of the intricate anatomy and surgical processes necessary for both renal graft retrieval from the donor and also for an adequate implantation in the recipient. Regarding graft retrieval, after reviewing the relevant retroperitoneal surgical anatomy, and donor nephrectomy techniques, graft preservation and optimal backbench graft dissection principles were meticulously analyzed.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains incurable in advanced stages. Biomarkers have proven to be quite useful in cancer therapeutics. Herein, we provide a comparative/integrative statistical analysis of seminal immunohistochemistry (IHC) findings for Wilms' Tumor 1 antigen (WT1) and thymine dimers (TDs), emerging as atypical, yet promising, potential biomarkers for RCCs.

Background/aim: Warthin's tumor, the second most frequent neoplasia of the parotid gland, is characterized by a proliferation of both epithelial and lymphoid components. In addition to epithelial and lymphoid cells, various other cell types are implicated to varying degrees in the immune response. Notably, mast cells have long been recognized as a consistent cell population within this tumor.

Introduction: The bladder cancer has some characteristics: the sixth most incident neoplasm in the United States, the majority of diagnosed cases in those 55 years of age and older, four times more common in man than women, a reduced five-year survival rate in case of metastatic disease. Despite the beneficial effects of the combination therapy and immunotherapy, the low response rate and drug resistance were reported. The main goal of this work was evaluation of the endothelial cell proliferation from urothelial carcinomas.

Ameloblastoma is a benign epithelial tumor that has aggressive, destructive and unlimited growth potential, having the capacity for recurrence and malignant transformation. Regarding the symptoms and clinical signs, the presentation of ameloblastoma is poor. In children and young people, ameloblastoma can be difficult to diagnose, because it mimics other benign lesions.

Cutaneous malignancies represent a real concern and burden for the healthcare system, not only due to their increased frequency, but also due to the significant number of deaths attributed to these types of cancer. The genesis of tumors, their progression and metastasis are highly complex and researched subjects; apparently, mast cells (MCs) constitute an important piece in the complicated jigsaw puzzle of cancer. This article reviews the current knowledge of the roles MCs might play in the development of cutaneous malignancies.

Understanding and addressing post-radical prostatectomy (RP) erectile dysfunction (ED) is of paramount importance for clinicians. Cavernous nerve (CN) injury rat model studies have provided consistently promising experimental data regarding regaining erectile function (EF) after nerve damage-induced ED. However, these findings have failed to translate efficiently into clinical practice, with post-RP ED therapeutic management remaining cumbersome and enigmatic.

Cystic adenoid carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignant epithelial tumor arising from exocrine glands and accounts for only 1% of head and neck cancers. ACCs are common in the fifth and sixth decades of life, predominantly in women, and characterized by slow progression, local aggression, recurrence, and high metastasis. Subglottotracheal ACC is a rare tumor in the pediatric population, with only a few cases reported in the literature.

Pelvic venous insufficiency (PVI) is frequently associated with symptoms of abdominal pain or discomfort that is overlooked or under-diagnosed in women. Despite the fact that pelvic venous insufficiency in men is very well documented, its occurrence in women needs to be further studied. Patients with pelvic varicose veins undergo a long and inconclusive diagnostic work-up before the exact cause of the symptoms is identified.

In the contemporary era of early detection, with mostly curative initial treatment for prostate cancer (PC), mortality rates have significantly diminished. In addition, mean age at initial PC diagnosis has decreased. Despite technical advancements, the probability of erectile function (EF) recovery post radical prostatectomy (RP) has not significantly changed throughout the last decade.
