Background: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has evolved from a novel technology to an established therapy for high-risk patients with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis (AS). Recently, its use has also been extended to low-risk patients, resulting in its increasing utilization in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). But as a serious post-TAVR complication, ischemic stroke was associated with a nearly 6-fold increased 30-day mortality.

Xueshuan Xinmaining Tablets and Capsules are two Chinese patent medicines with the same prescription, different preparation methods but the same function of replenishing Qi, activating blood, opening orifices, and relieving pain. Xueshuan Xinmaining Capsules were qualitatively analyzed by UPLC-Q/TOF-MS for the first time, and 61 compounds were identified, including 9 phenolic acids, 10 bufadienolides, 15 saponins, 5 bile acids, and 22 other compounds. The chemical composition was slightly different between Xueshuan Xinmaining Tablets and Capsules.

Objectives: We investigated the clinical significance of serum Helicobacter pylori cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) antibody levels in 768 patients with unstable angina (UA).
Methods: Serum CagA levels were measured using ELISA. Demographic data, serum biomarkers, and SYNTAX scores were collected.

This study investigated the clinical value of coronary arteriography (CAG) combined with fractional flow reserve (FFR) in the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD) with coronary artery stenosis exceeding 70%. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 344 patients with CHD treated at the Gansu Institute of Cardiovascular Science from January 2020 to May 2022. The patients were divided into the CAG group (n = 138) and the CAG + FFR group (n = 206).

Periodontitis (PD) patients frequently suffer from comorbidities, necessitating increased attention to disease management and monitoring. The aim of this study is to describe the prevalence and patterns of comorbidities among patients with PD in a private periodontal referral practice. This study involved 3171 adults with PD.

The long-term risk of cardiovascular and thrombotic events following severe COVID-19 remains largely unknown. This study aimed to assess the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) within one year after hospital discharge in patients who received intensive care for severe COVID-19. A register-based nationwide case-control study on a cohort of patients with severe COVID-19 (cases) requiring mechanical ventilation and discharged alive without experiencing cardiovascular or thrombotic events during their hospital stay.

Introduction: Evidence supports the relationships between socioeconomic status and access to health care, incidence of pathologies, and lifestyle.
Objective: The aim of this research was to investigate whether there are associations between having a household income below the poverty line, and participation in unhealthy lifestyle habits, the prevalence of non-communicable diseases, and the number of comorbidities in US middle-aged and older adults.
Methods: This cross-sectional study is based on the NHANES 2011-2020.

Background: Previous studies on the relation of sST2 with atherosclerotic disease mostly focused on the predictive value of sST2 for heart failure. However, there is no definite conclusion about the correlation between sST2 level and a complex coronary lesion morphology detected with coronary angiography (CAG). The purpose of this work was to know sST2 level and 3D speckle-tracking echocardiography as predictor of coronary artery disease (CAD) severity in chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) individuals using Gensini score.

Objective: To assess the effect of psychocardiology-based nursing intervention on cardiac function and self-efficacy in elderly patients with angina pectoris.
Methods: A total of 127 elderly patients with angina pectoris admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from December 2022 to December 2023 were divided into two groups: the control group (n=63) received routine nursing care, while the observation group (n=64) received psychocardiology-based nursing intervention in addition to routine care. The psychological status, self-efficacy, cardiac function, and severity of angina were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.

Background: A score based on age, creatinine level, and ejection fraction as well as hematocrit value and the presence of emergency surgery (ACEF-II) has been proposed to have predictive value for risk stratification in cardiac surgery. This study aimed to evaluate its utility in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and unstable angina (NSTEMI-ACS) to predict 1-year major adverse cardiac events (MACE).
Methods: In all, 768 patients with NSTEMI-ACS were enrolled in the study.

Coronary artery anomalies are rare congenital defects that involve abnormalities in the origin, course, or termination of the three main epicardial coronary arteries. Due to the variety of aberrant coronary artery defects, the clinical presentation can differ. Anomalous origins of the right coronary artery include the pulmonary trunk, ascending aorta, left sinus of Valsalva, and a course that traverses between the great vessels.

Background: Coronary sinus reducer (CSR) implantation is emerging as a novel effective percutaneous therapy for patients with refractory angina. Limited data exists examining the factors influencing successful CSR implantation. As CSR implantation becomes more widely adopted, a greater understanding of the procedural challenges which operators encounter is required.

Background: Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. It imposes an enormous symptomatic burden on patients, leaving many with residual disease despite optimal procedural therapy and up to one-thirds with debilitating angina amenable neither to procedures, nor to current pharmacological options. Semaglutide (SEM), a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide 1) agonist originally approved for management of diabetes, has garnered substantial attention for its capacity to attenuate cardiovascular risk.

Objectives: We performed preoperative evaluations of giant ovarian tumors in older adult patients using the comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) and estimation of physiologic ability and surgical stress (E-PASS) scoring systems. We report a case in which the Aron Alpha method was performed, and perioperative management was performed using enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS).
Materials And Methods: We performed preoperative evaluations using the E-PASS scoring system and CGA on older adult patients with giant ovarian tumors, followed by the minimally invasive Aron Alpha method and perioperative management using ERAS.

Objective: Angina, a prevalent manifestation of coronary artery disease, is primarily associated with inflammation, an established contributor to the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Various inflammatory markers are employed in clinical practice to predict patient prognosis and optimize clinical decision-making in the management of ACS. This study investigated the prognostic significance of integrating commonly used, easily repeatable inflammatory biomarkers within a multimodal preoperative prediction model in patients presenting with unstable Angina Pectoris (UAP) and intermediate coronary lesions.

Background: Stable angina pectoris, resulting from coronary artery atherosclerosis, significantly affects quality of life and carries a high risk of cardiovascular events. Despite modern therapies, managing this condition remains challenging. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) views it as a syndrome of heart meridian obstruction by phlegm and blood stasis, necessitating improved circulation and phlegm resolution.

Background And Aim: Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is a key indicator of kidney function and is associated with numerous health conditions. This study examines the association between eGFR and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in a representative cohort of the US adult population.
Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2007 to 2018.

Background: It's difficult to detect the severity of coronary artery disease in the patients who have stable angina pectoris. Echocardiography is a well-validated non-invasive diagnostic tool for detecting myocardial ischaemia, but judging wall motion abnormalities is subjective. Conventional echocardiography can assess radial mechanics only, so it cannot assess the sensitive longitudinal mechanics.
