Objective: This study aimed to investigate genetic variations in the osteoprotegerin-encoding gene (TNFRSF11B) in patients with temporomandibular joint ankylosis (TMJA).
Study Design: The sample comprised 17 patients diagnosed with TMJA, of both sexes with ages ranging from 6 to 57 years old. TNFRSF11B mutational analysis was performed using the Sanger sequencing method with DNA extracted from oral cells, and the functional impact prediction of the variants was assessed using bioinformatic analysis.

Case: We report the case of a patient who suffered traumatic avulsion of the gluteus medius and minimus tendons associated with posterior fracture-dislocation of the femoral head. The patient was treated with open reduction and internal fixation, followed by gluteus tenodesis with intraosseous anchors.
Conclusion: Although in isolation, gluteus medius or gluteus minimus tendons tear, hip dislocation, and head fractures are relatively common injuries; the concurrence of these lesions is noteworthy for its rarity.

Background: Healthcare workers occupationally exposed to F-FDG cannot wear protective equipment, such as lead aprons, since the interaction between high energy radiation (511 keV) and metal increases the dose of radiation absorption. The objective of this study was to evaluate the shielding efficacy of a plastic polymer against the toxicogenomic effects of ionizing radiation in human lymphocytes, using cytokinesis-block micronucleus assays.
Methods: Human peripheral blood lymphocytes were isolated from three subjects and cultured under standard conditions.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Brazilian women and the leading causing of cancer death among them. Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) followed by whole breast radiotherapy has become the standard care for early breast cancer. Although the omission of adjuvant breast radiotherapy has been associated with worse oncological outcomes, distance from treatment centers directly affects the employment of adjuvant breast irradiation.

Purpose: To evaluate the dosimetric impact of online cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) guided correction in lung stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).
Methods And Materials: Twenty planning and 162 CBCT images from 20 patients undergoing lung SBRT were analyzed. The precorrection CBCT (CBCT after patient setup, no couch correction) was registered to planning CT using soft tissue; couch shift was applied, with a second CBCT for verification (postcorrection CBCT).
