Coronary artery disease and upper abdominal surgery: impact of anesthesia on perioperative myocardial ischemia.

Background/aims: Some papers claim that epidural anesthesia and analgesia lowers the incidence of perioperative ischemic events and may have a favorable effect on perioperative cardiac morbidity and mortality.
