Background: Saccharumoside-B and its analogs were found to have anticancer potential in vitro. The present study reports acute toxicity, molecular docking, ADMET profile analysis, and in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory activity of saccharumoside-B for the first time.
Methods: The in vitro enzyme inhibitory activity of saccharumoside-B on PLA2, COX-1, COX-2, and 5-LOX enzymes was evaluated by the cell-free method, and its effect on TNF-α, IL1β, and IL- 6 secretion levels in LPS stimulated THP-1 human monocytes was determined by ELISA-based methods.

Setting appropriate reference conditions (RCs) is critical for classifying the Ecological Quality Status (EcoQS) which is extremely challenging, considering the present-day estuaries. The EcoQS of three tropical estuaries was assessed by applying five different RCs to identify the best applicable method for the area. The AZTI's indices (AMBI and M-AMBI) categorised areas with sharper pollution gradient with ease, while classification of moderate-low polluted areas was ambiguous.

The central west coast of India comprises the 720 km long coastline of Maharashtra state and houses widespread industrial zones along the eastern Arabian Sea. Sediments from seven industrial-dominated estuaries along the central west coast were studied for metal enrichment and benthic assemblages to determine sediment quality status and ecological effects in these areas. The suit of geochemical indices highlighted the contamination of sediment in the estuaries concerning heavy metals.

Stormwater drainage in urban areas has become a challenge due to the rapid and random growth of urban areas, removal of vegetation, reduction in the effectiveness of drainage infrastructure, and climate change. Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), Low Impact Development (LID), Best Management Practices (BMP), Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and the Sponge City Programme (SCP) are various aspects for urban stormwater management in a few parts of the world. Urban hydrology plays a vital role in the urban stormwater management system.

Evaluation of groundwater quality and related health hazards is a prerequisite for taking preventive measures. The rural region of Telangana, India, has been selected for the present study to assess the sources and origins of inferior groundwater quality and to understand the human health risk zones for adults and children due to the consumption of nitrate ([Formula: see text])- and fluoride (F)-contaminated groundwater for drinking purposes. Groundwater samples collected from the study region were determined for various chemical parameters.

One of the prominent uses of Predictive Analytics is Health care for more accurate predictions based on proper analysis of cumulative datasets. Often times the datasets are quite imbalanced and sampling techniques like Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) give only moderate accuracy in such cases. To overcome this problem, a two-step approach has been proposed.

To date, there are no specific treatment regimens for HIV-1-related central nervous system (CNS) complications, such as HIV-1-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). Here, we report that two newly generated CNS-targeting HIV-1 protease (PR) inhibitors (PIs), GRL-08513 and GRL-08613, which have a P1-3,5--fluorophenyl or P1--monofluorophenyl ring and P2-tetrahydropyrano-tetrahydrofuran (-THF) with a sulfonamide isostere, are potent against wild-type HIV-1 strains and multiple clinically isolated HIV-1 strains (50% effective concentration [EC]: 0.0001 to ∼0.

A simple and efficient protocol for the construction of 1-aminoisoquinolines was achieved by treating 2-(2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)benzonitriles with amines in the presence of MeAl. The reaction proceeds via a domino nucleophilic addition with subsequent intramolecular cyclisation. This method provides a wide variety of substituted 1-aminoisoquinolines with good functional group tolerance.

Background: Ovarian cancer is the world's dreaded disease and its prevalence is expanding globally. The study of integrated molecular networks is crucial for the basic mechanism of cancer cells and their progression. During the present investigation, we have examined different flavonoids that target protein kinases B (AKT1) protein which exerts their anticancer efficiency intriguing the role in cross-talk cell signalling, by metabolic processes through in-silico approaches.

Groundwater quality assessment is an important measure to determine the usability of available water based on its physical, chemical, and bacteriological properties. In the present study, 10 physicochemical parameters have been considered for the groundwater quality assessment which include potential of hydrogen (pH), electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), sodium (Na), potassium (K), total hardness (TH), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), bicarbonate (HCO), and chloride (Cl). For the analysis, 21 samples for pre- and post-monsoon periods were collected from the wells/bore wells of five designated villages, Chinna Madina, Chittiyyapalem, Typuram, Rajam, and Neelakantapuram of the Butchayyapeta Mandal (sub-district) located in Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, for the year 2017.

Diabetes is a type of disease that threatens human health, which can be diagnosed based on the level of glucose in the blood. Recently, various MOF-based materials have been developed as efficient electrochemical glucose sensors because of their tunable pore channels, large specific surface area well dispersed metallic active sites, In this review, the significance of glucose detection and the advantages of MOF-based materials for this application are primarily discussed. Then, the application of MOF-based materials can be categorized into two types of glucose sensors: enzymatic biosensors and non-enzymatic sensors.

The present study examines historical perspectives of the macrobenthic community in response to different phases of anthropogenic perturbations in Kakinada Bay, a tropical embayment on the east coast of India. Multivariate analysis of the snapshot data (1958-2017) revealed considerable changes in the Bay environment following a breakwater construction across the Bay mouth in 1997. Subsequently, port expansion activities, industrialization, urbanization, and geomorphic alterations in the Godavari delta brought deterrent changes in the Bay.
