Objectives: Recently, -nitrosamines were unexpectedly detected in valsartan and other generic sartan products. Taking into this account, we developed a sensitive and stable multiple reaction monitoring mode-based "gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS)" approach for the quantification of "four -nitrosamines" in valsartan, especially, -nitrosodiisopropylamine, -nitroso ethyl isopropylamine, -nitrosodiethylamine, and -nitrosodimethylamine.
Materials And Methods: GC and MS conditions were optimized with specificity, sensitivity, linearity, precision, and accuracy of the parameters.

MXenes are 2D ceramic materials, especially carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides derived from their parent 'MAX' phases by the etching out of 'A' and are famous due to their conducting, hydrophilic, biocompatible, and tunable properties. However, they are hardly stable in the outer environment, have low biodegradability, and have difficulty in drug release, etc., which are overcome by MXene/Polymer nanocomposites.

A simple and efficient protocol has been developed to access symmetrical and unsymmetrical 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazoles from arylacetic acids and hydrazides copper-catalyzed dual oxidation under an oxygen atmosphere. Oxidative decarboxylation of arylacetic acids and oxidative functionalization of the imine C-H bond are the key steps. This is the first example of the synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazoles through dual oxidation in one-pot.

Rice husk (RH) and polystyrene (PS) wastes were converted into value-added products using microwave-assisted catalytic co-pyrolysis. The graphite susceptor (10 g) along with KOH catalyst (5 g) was mixed with the feedstock to understand the products and energy consumption. RH promoted the char yield (20-34 wt%) and gaseous yields (16-25 wt%) whereas PS enhanced the oil yield (23-70 wt%).

A series of newer previously synthesized fluorinated chalcones and their 2-amino-pyridine-3-carbonitrile and 2-amino-4H-pyran-3-carbonitrile derivatives were screened for their in vitro antitubercular activity and in silico methods. Compound 40 (MIC~ 8 μM) was the most potent among all 60 compounds, whose potency is comparable with broad spectrum antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and streptomycin and three times more potent than pyrazinamide. Additionally, compound 40 was also less selective and hence non-toxic towards the human live cell lines-LO2 in its MTT assay.

This study aimed to evaluate the degree of groundwater pollution and to assess the contribution of specific ionic sources to groundwater, thereby helping to identify the changes in groundwater chemistry and also in groundwater quality from a rural part of Telangana, India, using the comprehensive understanding of geochemical ratios (GR), pollution index of groundwater (PIG), unmix model (UM), and land use/land cover. Groundwater samples collected (22) from the study area were analysed for pH, EC, TDS, Ca, Mg, Na, K, HCO, Cl, SO, NO, and F The hydrogeochemical diagram showed the dominant groundwater type of Ca- Mg- HCO due to the water-soil-rock interactions. GR, chloro-alkaline indices, and saturation indices revealed the groundwater chemistry that explains the mineral weathering and dissolution, ion exchange, and evaporation processes as the chief geogenic origin, and also the contamination of surface water due to the influence of household wastewater, septic tank leaks, irrigation-return-flows, chemical composts, etc.

Plastic polymers are non-degradable solid wastes that have become a great threat to the whole world and degradation of these plastics would take a few decades. Compared with other degradation processes, the biodegradation process is the most effective and best way for plastic degradation due to its non-polluting mechanism, eco-friendly nature, and cost-effectiveness. Biodegradation of synthetic plastics is a very slow process that also involves environmental factors and the action of wild microbial species.
