To investigate the use of the European SCORE model in a dental setting by exploring the frequency of a 'high' and 'very high' 10-year CVD mortality risk in patients with and without periodontitis. The secondary aim was to investigate the association of SCORE with various periodontitis parameters adjusting for remaining potential confounders. In this study, we recruited periodontitis patients and non-periodontitis controls, all aged ≥40 years.

These problems are not limited to offline relations but also manifest in the online social world, as previous research shows that ADHD is associated with problematic use of social media. Given the ubiquitous nature of social media, the goal of the current review is to understand why adolescents with ADHD demonstrate more problematic social media use than their typically developing peers.

The trillions of commensal microorganisms comprising the gut microbiota have received growing attention owing to their impact on host physiology. Recent advances in our understandings of the host-microbiota crosstalk support a pivotal role of microbiota-derived metabolites in various physiological processes, as they serve as messengers in the complex dialogue between commensals and host immune and endocrine cells. In this review, we highlight the importance of tryptophan-derived metabolites in host physiology, and summarize the recent findings on the role of tryptophan catabolites in preserving intestinal homeostasis and fine-tuning immune and metabolic responses.

This study investigates if fast or readily available tumor contours can substitute full tumor contours by an experienced observer for an MR-based radiomics model to predict locoregional control (LRC) in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) tumors.
