Unlabelled: Lung cancer is one of the most common and deadly types of cancer worldwide, and the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) has emerged as a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of this disease. In this study, we designed a library of 1840 benzofuran-1,2,3-triazole hybrids and conducted pharmacophore-based screening to identify potential EGFR inhibitors. The 20 identified compounds were further evaluated using molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations to understand their binding interactions with the EGFR receptor.

As a result of metabolic reprogramming, cancer cells display high rates of glycolysis, causing an excess production of lactate along with an increase in extracellular acidity. Proton-linked monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs) are crucial in the maintenance of this metabolic phenotype, by mediating the proton-coupled lactate flux across cell membranes, also contributing to cancer cell pH regulation. Among the proteins codified by the SLC16 gene family, MCT1 and MCT4 isoforms are the most explored in cancers, being overexpressed in many cancer types, from solid tumours to haematological malignancies.

Lead halide perovskite (CsPbBr) quantum dots (QDs) and two-dimensional (2D) layered transition metal dichalcogenides have a significant application in solution-processed optoelectronic devices. Here, we report the oleylamine-assisted exfoliation of TiSe nanosheets (NSs) in dichlorobenzene with high concentration and stable dispersion. The functionalized TiSe NSs were used to synthesize the solution-processed perovskite CsPbBr QD/TiSe NS-based nanocomposite.

Objectives: The aims of this study were to assess the relationships of (1) clinical variables (age, level of injury, time since injury [TSI], and completeness of injury) and (2) psychological variables (stress and depression) with mental imagery ability in individuals with spinal cord injury.
Study Design: This was a cross-sectional study. Participants with spinal cord injury (N = 130) were requested to fill the Kinesthetic and Visual Imagery Questionnaire and Vividness of Motor Imagery Questionnaire.

Interfacial interactions between a layer of iron and MgO hold the key to various phenomena like tunnel magnetoresistance, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, interlayer exchange coupling, observed in the system. Interface structure has been studied in situ during deposition of iron on MgO surface, using soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy (SXAS). Sub-monolayer sensitivity of SXAS, combined with in situ measurements as a function of iron layer thickness, allowed one to study the evolution of interface with film thickness.

A sub-optimal nutritional environment from early life can be envisaged as a stressor that translates into mental health problems in adulthood. After considering (a) the widespread prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency especially amongst women in developing countries and (b) the importance of vitamin B12 in normal brain function, in this study we have elucidated the behavioural correlates of chronic severe and moderate vitamin B12 deficiency in C57BL/6 mice. Female weanling mice were assigned to three dietary groups: (a) control AIN-76A diet with cellulose as dietary fibre (b) vitamin B12 restricted AIN-76A diet with pectin as dietary fibre (severe deficiency group) and (c) vitamin B12 restricted AIN-76A diet with cellulose as dietary fibre (moderate deficiency group).

Diamond nano-particles find new and far-reaching applications in modern biomedical science and biotechnologies. Due to its excellent biocompatibility, nano-diamonds serve as versatile platforms that can be embedded within polymer-based microfilm devices. Nano-diamonds are complexed with a chemotherapeutic that enables sustained/slow release of the drug for a minimum of one month, with a significant amount of drug in reserve.

Glucosinolates (thioglucoside-N-hydroxysulphates) constitute a homogeneous class of naturally occurring thiosaccharidic compounds mainly found in the botanical order Brassicales. They can be hydrolyzed by myrosinase to produce D-glucose and various other degradation products like isothiocyanates (ITCs)-depending on the aglycon part. The exact function of glucosinolates (GLSs) in the plant is unclear, however their potent odour and taste suggests a role in herbivore and microbial defense.

Phenols, a major group of antioxidant phytochemicals, have profound importance due to their biological and free radical scavenging activities. To identify their potential sources extracts of some fruits and their different parts were studied for total phenolic contents (TPC), antioxidant (AOA) and free radical scavenging activities (FRSA). The amount of TPC varied from 10.
