Background: Health guideline developers engage with interested people and groups to ensure that guidelines and their recommendations are relevant and useful to those who will be affected by them. These 'interest-holders' include patients, payers/purchasers of health services, payers of health research, peer review editors, product makers, programme managers, policymakers, providers, principal investigators, and the public. The Guidelines International Network (GIN) and McMaster University Guideline Development Checklist describes 146 steps of the guideline process organized into 18 topics.

Objective: To investigate the sensitivity of laryngeal findings in predicting high-grade dysplasia/carcinoma in situ (CIS) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in patients with vocal fold leukoplakia.
Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records and video recordings of the laryngeal examination of patients with vocal fold leukoplakia who underwent un-sedated office-based laryngeal biopsy in a tertiary referral center between January 2022 and August 2023 was conducted. Laryngeal findings included the size, surface, projection, and edges of the lesion.
Background Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is a major vascular operation for stroke prevention that carries significant perioperative risks; however, outcome prediction tools remain limited. The authors developed machine learning algorithms to predict outcomes following CEA. Methods and Results The National Surgical Quality Improvement Program targeted vascular database was used to identify patients who underwent CEA between 2011 and 2021.

Introduction: Facial thread lifting is a highly demanded procedure in esthetic clinics worldwide. The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and overall patients' satisfaction of a new generation of barbed threads, in which a hyaluronic acid (HA) coat was added to the PLLA/PCL threads and compare the results with PLLA/PCL threads without HA.
Materials And Methods: Twenty patients treated with the PLLA/PCL threads with or without hyaluronic acid (HA) were compared for FaceQ scales: Age appraisal, psychological function, skin satisfaction, satisfaction with facial appearance, appraisal lines of nasolabial folds, satisfaction of lower face, and jaw were compared at baseline, 4 and 12 months post-treatment.
Objective: To report the efficacy of office-based blue laser therapy for vocal fold leukoplakia.
Study Design: A retrospective case series.
Setting: A tertiary care center.
Surgical resection of obstructive tracheal tumors can be challenging to cardiothoracic surgeons and anesthesiologists. It is often difficult in these cases to maintain oxygenation by face mask ventilation during induction of general anesthesia. Also, the extent and location of these tracheal tumors can preclude conventional induction of general anesthesia and subsequent successful endotracheal intubation.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains a medical anomaly that baffles researchers and physicians alike. The overall phenotypical changes of diastolic function and left ventricular hypertrophy observed in HFpEF are definable; however, the metabolic and molecular alterations that ultimately produce these changes are not well established. Comorbidities such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes, as well as general aging, play crucial roles in its development and progression.

Novel pharmacologic treatment options reduce mortality and morbidity in a cost-effective manner in patients with heart failure (HF). Undisputedly, the effective implementation of these agents is an essential element of good clinical practice, which is endorsed by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines on acute and chronic HF. Yet, physicians struggle to implement these therapies as they have to balance the true and/or perceived risks versus their substantial benefits in clinical practice.

Purpose: To report the use of Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) for secondary surgical removal of intraocular foreign bodies (IOFB) years after the trauma as migration occurred through the endothelium, damaging the endothelium, and causing corneal edema.
Observations: We report the case of a blast injury in 1972, that led to left eye traumatic cataract managed with vitrectomy and lensectomy. Although thorough removal was attempted, some corneal and conjunctival foreign bodies remained.
