Parathyroid adenoma is a common endocrine disorder, but its intrathyroid presentation is relatively rare. The traditional approach, such as thyroid blind lobectomy, is the most frequent modality of treatment due to the possible unclear localization of the adenoma in the preoperative workup. This increases the risk of unnecessary probability of hypothyroidism.

Background: Subtle uterine lesions are abnormal intracavitary conditions that, while not causing significant anatomical changes, can adversely impact fertility. Identifying these "subtle" lesions is challenging due to arbitrary interpretation, varied management strategies, unclear clinical significance, and insufficient clinician training in recognizing them. Hysteroscopy offers direct visualization and the capacity to obtain targeted biopsies, making it an invaluable tool for the diagnosis and treatment of these often overlooked conditions.

Introduction And Importance: Cecal volvulus is an uncommon cause of large bowel obstruction that typically presents in older adults with a history of chronic constipation or prior abdominal surgery. However, this report documents a rare and atypical case of cecal volvulus presenting in a middle-aged female with no significant past medical or surgical history. This case also highlights the benefits of adopting a synergistic approach between a physician's clinical judgment and the patient's presentation when making a diagnosis to ensure timely interventions and prevent life-threatening complications.

The combined analysis of the retrospective multicentre and prospective multicenter cohort registry trial NEOSENTITURK MF18-02/18-03 (NCT04250129) investigated the outcomes and factors associated with recurrence in patients with cT1-4N1-3M0 who underwent a succesful sentinel lymph node biopsy or targeted axillary dissection (n = 1470), with or without axillary lymph node dissection (n = 937) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The present large registry data suggest that axillary recurrences (AR) can be detected at exceedingly low rates (< 0.5%) within 3 years after surgery.

Introduction: Despite the declining public health emergency status, COVID-19 still poses significant risks, especially for immunocompromised individuals. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of tixagevimab-cilgavimab (T-C) prophylaxis in preventing severe COVID-19 in patients with hematologic malignancies (HM) treated with anti-CD20 therapy during the early Omicron variant phase of the pandemic.
Methods: The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Study Group for Respiratory Viruses (ESGREV) conducted a multicenter retrospective cohort study involving 15 centers from 5 countries.

Background: The SIPPET randomized clinical trial showed that in previously untreated patients (PUPs) with severe hemophilia A, treatment with plasma-derived factor (F)VIII (pdFVIII) within the first 50 exposure days (EDs) was associated with a lower cumulative incidence of inhibitors than with recombinant FVIII (rFVIII). Switching to rFVIII beyond 50 EDs with pdFVIII is a treatment often implemented by many centers. The question is whether or not this switch may induce a risk of inhibitor development.

Background: There is a paucity of literature on manufacturer mismatch in reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA). It is unclear if use of different implant manufacturers for the glenoid side and the humeral side influences patient outcomes in primary RSA. We hypothesize that patients undergoing primary RSA with manufacturer mismatch such that humeral and glenoid components are from different manufacturers will not experience adverse outcomes when compared to a cohort of patients with humeral and glenoid components from the same manufacturer.

Background: This study aims to identify factors predicting recurrence and unfavorable prognosis in cN+ patients who have undergone sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).
Methods: The retrospective multi-centre "MF18-02" and the prospective multi-centre cohort registry trial "MF18-03" (NCT04250129) included patients with cT1-4N1-3M0 with SLNB+/- axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) post-NAC.
Results: A total of 2407 cN+ patients, who later achieved cN0 status after NAC and subsequently underwent SLNB, were studied.
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in both the frequency and severity of colitis. This infection presents a broad clinical spectrum, ranging from asymptomatic colonization to severe fulminant colitis, which often requires urgent surgical intervention. The failure of medical treatments and the development of toxic megacolon typically necessitate surgery, though it is associated with high mortality rates.

Current guidelines recommend adding long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMAs) in patients with uncontrolled asthma, despite the use of moderate to high doses of inhaled steroid-long-acting beta agonists (ICS/LABA). This study aims to analyze the factors related to the prescription of add-on LAMA in clinical practice for asthma patients, shedding light on physicians' preferences. This study included adult asthma patients on add-on LAMA and ICS/LABA monitored for at least one year in a national registry comprising 2053 asthmatics.

Purpose: Cholecystitis presents significant treatment challenges, especially in elderly patients with high surgical or anesthetic risks. While cholecystectomy remains the standard intervention, its feasibility is sometimes limited, leading to reliance on cholecystostomy, which has a high recurrence rate and does not address the underlying cause. The aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of chemical gallbladder ablation as a minimally invasive treatment option for acute cholecystitis in elderly and comorbid patients.

Here, we report the results of the prospective cohort study EORTC-CLG 58081 and compare them to the control arm of the randomized phase 3 trial EORTC-CLG 58951, on which treatment recommendations were built. In both studies, patients aged 1-18 years with negative acute lymphoblastic leukemia of the B-lineage (B-ALL) or T-lineage (T-ALL) were treated using a BFM backbone without cranial irradiation. Similarly to the control arm of 58951, prednisolone (PRED) 60 mg/m/day was used for induction therapy, but a few modifications were made.

Striae distensae (SD) are a prevalent dermatological concern of women and approximately 90% of pregnant women experience these stretch marks. Fractional microneedle radiofrequency (FMR) and fractional CO2 laser (FCL) have gained substantial attention in the treatment of SD. In clinical studies, a clear superiority between FMR and FCL treatments is not found due to limited studies and sample sizes.
