A series of bifunctional hexagonal MOFs have been successfully constructed by the introduction of various amine functional groups within the unsaturated Cu-based MOF, HKUST, to access amino-modified frameworks. The prepared compounds are cost-effective and display high chemical and thermal stability. They were effectually exploited as efficacious and superb heterogeneous catalysts in rapid and facile Knoevenagel condensation reactions for a variety of substrates containing different electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents with very high conversion, good reusability under mild conditions, and very short reaction time.

We study percolation on the sites of a finite lattice visited by a generalized random walk of finite length with periodic boundary conditions. More precisely, consider Levy flights and walks with finite jumps of length >1 [like Knight's move random walks (RWs) in two dimensions and generalized Knight's move RWs in 3D]. In these walks, the visited sites do not form (as in ordinary RWs) a single connected cluster, and thus percolation on them is nontrivial.

The utilization of photocatalysts offers a promising approach for the removal of Cr (VI) and rhodamine dyes. Through the generation of reactive species and subsequent degradation reactions, photocatalysis provides an efficient and environmentally friendly method for the remediation of wastewater. In this study, we have synthesized an n-p-n heterojunction of carbon nitride (CN), zinc oxide (ZnO), and black phosphorus (BP) through the sonication-stirring method.

Fumed silica was functionalized by piperazine followed by the reaction with 2- naphthalenesulfonyl chloride to prepare Fumed-Si-Pr-Piperazine-Naphthalenesulfonyl chloride (Fumed-Si-Pr-PNS), which was characterized to demonstrate the effective attachment on the surface of fumed silica. The optical sensing ability of Fumed-Si-Pr-PNS was studied via diverse metal ions in HO solution by photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results showed that Fumed-Si-Pr-PNS detected selectively Hg ions.

Here, highly efficient one-pot protocols for the synthesis of structurally diverse fused N-containing heterocycles containing 2-chloroquinoline employing 1,1-bis(methylsulfanyl)-2-nitroethene, diamines, 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehydes and dimedone/Meldrum's acid in green media in the absence of catalyst are reported. The current report proposes sustainable, simple, four-component and straightforward strategies for generating interesting N-containing heterocyclic compounds from a range of diamines and 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehydes. The utilization of water as green media furnishes sustainability by preventing the usage of toxic solvent.

Metformin (MET) is widely used in the treatment of diabetes either alone or in combination with other drugs, in drug discovery to evaluate the anti-diabetic potential of other drugs, and usually as a comparison compound in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics studies. Measuring the concentration of this substance is very important both pre-clinically in different species and clinically in the medical monitoring of diabetic patients to prevent toxicity and ensure adherence to described drugs. Therefore, it is very important to develop a sensitive and selective method to measure MET.

Objectives: Epilepsy, the tendency to have recurrent unprovoked seizures, is the most common chronic neurological disorder worldwide. About 20% to 40% of children with epilepsy suffer from refractory seizures, causing neurological, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments. Identifying the factors contributing to pediatric refractory seizures can help neurologists effectively prevent, diagnose, and treat their patients.

Although leishmaniasis is one of the most common parasitic diseases, its traditional treatments suffer from some serious problems. To solve such issues, we can take advantage of the effective nanoparticle-based approaches to deliver anti-leishmanial agents into leishmania-infected macrophages either using passive targeting or using macrophagerelated receptors. Despite the high potential of nanotechnology, Liposomal Amphotericin B (AmBisome) is the only FDA-approved nanoparticle-based anti-leishmanial therapy.

The Body Appreciation Scale-2 (BAS-2) is a widely used measure of a core facet of the positive body image construct. However, extant research concerning measurement invariance of the BAS-2 across a large number of nations remains limited. Here, we utilised the Body Image in Nature (BINS) dataset - with data collected between 2020 and 2022 - to assess measurement invariance of the BAS-2 across 65 nations, 40 languages, gender identities, and age groups.

Efficiency comparison between tracking and optimally fixed flat solar collectors.

Sci Rep

Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zanjan, Zanjan, 45371-38791, Iran.

We investigate the optimal orientation for a fixed flat plate solar collector using the clear sky model. The ground reflection component of irradiation that hits the collector's surface is ignored due to its relatively small magnitude when compared to the direct beam and sky diffusive components. Analytical calculations demonstrate that regardless of the collector's latitude, the most effective azimuthal angle, [Formula: see text], is 0, which generally corresponds to a North-South direction.
