MOF-derived heteroatom-doped mesoporous carbons have gained the significant consideration in heterogenous catalytic reactions because of their multipurpose features. Especially, the high Specific Surface Area (SSA) of these materials provides abundant activated sites for the catalytic reactions, while the mesoporous structure allows for the effective mass transfer, enhancing the overall capability of the catalytic process. Herein, the efficient NiO/CN-T (T referred to the pyrolysis temperature) was prepared by facile pyrolysis of MOF/CS composite (Ni-MOF (74), Chitosan) in the presence of excess amount of starch as the carbon precursor.

Caffeine and halloysite nanoclay mineral that are bio-based compounds were utilized to synthesize a novel Lewis acid heterogeneous catalyst. To this aim, halloysite was functionalized with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine and reacted with caffeine, which was then converted to ionic liquid via a reaction with ZnCl. The catalyst was applied for promoting the dehydration of fructose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural.

In the pursuit of enhancing the catalytic potential of the Wells-Dawson (WD) polyoxometalate (POM) while addressing its solubility challenges, this study focuses on devising a sustainable catalyst that operates effectively in aqueous environments. Leveraging cyclodextrin (CD) polymer chemistry in conjunction with 3D printing technology, a CD nanosponge, recognized for its interaction with POMs and molecular shuttle attributes, is synthesized as a scaffold for WD immobilization. Through integration into a 3D-printed monolith framework, the supported WD species becomes embedded within the catalyst structure, facilitating its application.

Adiposity, a state characterized by excessive accumulation of body fat, is closely linked to metabolic complications and the secretion of specific adipokines. This study explores the potential of exercise and Spirulina supplementation to mitigate these complications and modulate adipokine release associated with obesity. The primary objective of this investigation was to examine the impact of a 12-week regimen of high-intensity training combined with Spirulina supplementation on adipokine concentrations and lipid profiles in male individuals with obesity (N = 44).

To reduce the dimension of optoelectronic devices, recently, Molybdenum disulfide (MoS) monolayers with direct bandgap in the visible range are widely used in designing a variety of photonic devices. In these applications, adjustability of the working wavelength and bandwidth with optimum absorption value plays an important role. This work proposes a symmetric defective photonic crystal with three defects containing MoS monolayer to achieve triple narrowband defect modes with wavelength adjustability throughout the Photonic Band Gap (PBG) region, 560 to 680 nm.

Although the influence of consumer reviews is increasing in weight, far-flung consumer comments on social networks are a retrogressive problem, disturbing users' attention in reviews studies by interpreting them as misleading messages. The need for investigating the unknown meaning layers of fake reviews in the stepwise topic movement of conversations and examining the effects of the fake reviews on consumers' shopping attitudes encouraged us to adopt an integrated approach to marketing and discourse analyses. •Qualitative analysis: To qualitatively investigate the stepwise topic movement of fake reviews in each sampled conversation of the research, three phases were taken into consideration: firstly, ; then, ; and finally, .

Here, we discuss how to achieve the stable actuation of a double beam torsional micro-actuator over the largest possible displacement of the moving component under the influence of Casimir and electrostatic torques, when the rotating component is constructed from different materials. The main part of this study is devoted to finding the optimal distribution of the electrostatic torque between the left and right sides of the micro-actuator to reach the maximum stable operation of the device. The latter is manifested by switching from homoclinic to heteroclinic orbits in the phase portraits.

Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) is a leading cause of irreversible visual impairment in the elderly. The current management of nAMD is limited and involves regular intravitreal administration of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF). However, the effectiveness of these treatments is limited by overlapping and compensatory pathways leading to unresponsiveness to anti-VEGF treatments in a significant portion of nAMD patients.

Recent advancements have focused on enhancing factor VIII half-life and refining its delivery methods, despite the well-established knowledge that factor VIII deficiency is the main clotting protein lacking in hemophilia. Consequently, both viral and non-viral delivery systems play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for hemophilia patients. The utilization of viral vectors and the manipulation of non-viral vectors through targeted delivery are significant advancements in the field of cellular and molecular therapies for hemophilia.
