Understanding human behavior and human action recognition are both essential components of effective surveillance video analysis for the purpose of guaranteeing public safety. However, existing approaches such as three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D CNN) and two-stream neural networks (2SNN) have computational hurdles due to the significant parameterization they require. In this paper, we offer HARNet, a specialized lightweight residual 3D CNN that is built on directed acyclic graphs and was created expressly to handle these issues and achieve effective human action detection.

The accurate detection, identification, and analysis of biofluids at crime scenes play a critical role in forensic investigations. Various biofluids, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluid, menstrual blood, urine, and saliva, can be crucial evidence. In a murder case involving a knife attack, for instance, bloodstains from both the victim and perpetrator might be present.

The main aim of this work is to enhance the wear performance of the direct metal laser sintered (DMLS) alloy 718 by solution treatment aging (STA) method at room temperature (RT) (28°C) and 400°C in dry sliding conditions. The effect of microstructure, phase analysis, and microhardness on the wear behavior and the influence of STA on the specimen at elevated temperatures were studied. The microstructure revealed the presence of melt pool boundary (MPB) in untreated DMLS alloy while recrystallized grains were observed in the STA-treated alloy.

Breast cancer classification plays a crucial role in healthcare, especially in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients. Traditional methods for classifying breast cancer based on histopathological images often suffer from limited accuracy, which can hinder early detection and treatment. Hence, this paper devises a novel Internet of Things (IoT) based healthcare system using SqueezeNet_Fractional Dung Beetle Optimization (Squeeze_FDBO) for breast cancer detection.

Alterations in subcortical brain regions are linked to motor and non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, associations between clinical expression and regional morphological abnormalities of the basal ganglia, thalamus, amygdala and hippocampus are not well established. We analyzed 3D T1-weighted brain MRI and clinical data from 2525 individuals with PD and 1326 controls from 22 global sources in the ENIGMA-PD consortium.

Basalt-based natural fiber hybrid composites with fillers are always the most anticipated composite material candidates for lightweight structural applications. Current work focusses on the preparation, characterization and testing of Basalt (B)/Hibiscus vitifolius (HV) based epoxy biocomposites with and without cashew nutshell fillers. Individual fiber reinforced composites (with 40 vol% of fibers) and hybrid composites (with 40 vol% of fibers in the ratio 1:1) filled with 10-30 vol% of fillers were manufactured using compression moulding techniques.

Background: Angiogenesis and nascent blood vessel formation is thought to be important in cerebral arteriovenous malformation (cAVM) development and maintenance, of which little is known. Digital subtraction angiogram (DSA) features of angiogenesis in cAVMs are poorly described and the aim of this study was to describe the frequency of angiogenesis in patients who had a DSA showing a cAVM. We also sought to evaluate the intra- and inter-observer agreement of a diagnosis of angiogenesis and explore which angioarchitectural features were associated with angiogenesis.

Introduction: Distinguishing patients with intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) from other suspected stroke cases in the prehospital setting is crucial for determining the appropriate level of care and minimising the onset-to-treatment time, thereby potentially improving outcomes. Therefore, we developed prehospital prediction models to identify patients with ICH among suspected stroke cases.
Methods: Data were obtained from the Field Administration of Stroke Therapy-Magnesium prehospital stroke trial, where paramedics evaluated multiple variables in suspected stroke cases within the first 2 hours from the last known well time.

Stroke remains a leading cause of mortality and disability, with ischemic stroke being the most common type. It occurs due to reduced cerebral blood flow, leading to a cascade of events initiated by oxygen and nutrient deprivation, triggering excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, and inflammation and finally culminating in neuronal injury and death. Key molecular players in ischemic stroke include glutamate receptors, acid-sensing ion channels, and purinergic receptors, exacerbating cellular damage through calcium influx, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction.

This study aimed to investigate the acute effects of lower limb wearable resistance on maximal horizontal deceleration biomechanics, across two different assessments. Twenty recreationally trained team sport athletes performed acceleration to deceleration assessments (ADA), and 5-0-5 change of direction (COD) tests across three load conditions (unloaded, 2% of BW, 4% of body weight (BW)), with load attached to the anterior and posterior thighs and shanks. Linear mixed effect models with participant ID as the random effect, and load condition as the fixed effect were used to study load-specific biomechanical differences in deceleration mechanics across both tests.

Unlabelled: Computational methods have been established as cornerstones in optical imaging and holography in recent years. Every year, the dependence of optical imaging and holography on computational methods is increasing significantly to the extent that optical methods and components are being completely and efficiently replaced with computational methods at low cost. This roadmap reviews the current scenario in four major areas namely incoherent digital holography, quantitative phase imaging, imaging through scattering layers, and super-resolution imaging.

Tonoplast intrinsic proteins (TIPs) are crucial in facilitating the transportation of water and various small solutes across biological membranes. The evolutionary path and functional roles of TIPs is poorly understood in plants. In the present study, a total of 976 TIPs were identified in 104 diverse species and subsequently studied to trace their lineage-specific evolutionary path and tissue-specific function.
