Mesonephric Adenocarcinoma and Mesonephric-like Adenocarcinoma of the Urinary Tract.

Given the association of mesonephric adenocarcinoma (MA) of the uterine cervix with florid mesonephric hyperplasia, one would expect MAs to rarely arise in other anatomical locations that harbor mesonephric remnants. In contrast, mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma (MLA) is thought to arise from Müllerian origin without an association with mesonephric remnants. The current case series characterizes 4 cases of MA arising in the urinary bladder (1 woman and 3 men), 1 case of MA in the perirenal region (woman), and 1 case of MLA in the ureter (woman).

Background: Chronic opioid therapy (COT) has been used to treat many chronic pain conditions even with poor evidence for its long-term effectiveness. Medical cannabis has emerged with certain pain-relieving properties, which has led to questions as to its' potential application, especially in relation to its effect on opioid use.

Objectives: This study investigates a proposed clinical context in offering medical cannabis as a treatment for chronic pain for those already using chronic opioid therapy.

Objective: To determine the indication and risk of 30-day rehospitalization after hip or knee replacement among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) by Medicare and non-Medicare status.

Methods: Using the Nationwide Readmission Database (2010-2014), we defined an index hospitalization as an elective hospitalization with a principal procedure of total hip (THR) or knee replacement (TKR) among adults aged ≥ 18 years. Primary payer was categorized as Medicare or non-Medicare.

A lack of recognition can lead to proximal hamstring injuries being frequently misdiagnosed, resulting in delayed treatment. Chronic proximal hamstring tears are often retracted and scarred to the surrounding soft tissues.

Social competence in pediatric burn survivors: A systematic review.

Objective: Youth sustaining burn injuries during childhood have dramatically increased survival rates due to improvements in medical treatment and multidisciplinary approaches to burn critical care and recovery. Despite positive advancements in burn treatment, youth sustaining such injuries may experience social deficits. Thus, this systematic review without meta-analysis investigation contributes to the growing literature on this topic by comparing social competence of pediatric burn survivors to youth without burns, and examining potential correlates of social competence among children and adolescents who have sustained burn injuries.
