Chicken lines produced by divergent selection for the functional adrenal reserves showed significant between-line differences in the content of corticosterone and other hormones (thyroxin, progesterone), as well as in body weight, early maturation, and egg yield. DNA fingerprinting with the pGB725 probe revealed molecular changes in genomic DNA of the chicken lines subjected to plus and minus selection. The genetic distances between the original population and the selected chicken lines, which were estimated from the molecular hybridization patterns, reflected the history of breeding.

A high-resolution cytogenetic map (670 bands per haploid set) of RBA-banded chromosomes has been constructed in the domestic horse Equus caballus. The size and distribution of the replication-based R(G)-bands were analyzed using the computer program VideoTest-Karyo. The obtained data were compared to the results of cytogenetic mapping in other mammalian species and human.

Cell clones of the finite organospecific rat rhabdomyosarcoma RA-23 were selected in vivo for high and low frequency of interphase cells with chromosome bridges. After selection for high frequency of cells with bridges, the frequency of cells with anomalies of nuclear form sharply increased in the cell populations. These anomalies were manifested by long nuclear protrusions into the cytoplasm.
