Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is characterized as an autoimmune disease that involves the destruction of intrahepatic bile ducts, characteristically leading to a cholestatic liver. The presence of disease-specific antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) is the gold standard to diagnose PBC. Typically, PBC is known to affect female populations exceedingly over their male counterparts.

Angiodysplasia (also known as angioectasia) is a lesion characterized by abnormal, dilated small blood vessels in the mucosa and submucosal layers of the GI tract. With the estimated low incidence of active GI bleeding from these lesions, angiodysplasia can be challenging to diagnose. The presence of aortic stenosis has increased the recognition rate of angiodysplasia, especially in the elderly.

Background: The success of antiretroviral therapy has led to an increase in life expectancy and an associated rise in the risk of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) among people living with HIV.
Objective: Our aim was to conduct a systematic review to synthesize the existing literature on the patterns of use and effects of mobile health (mHealth) interventions for improving treatment adherence and outcomes of care for CMD among people living with HIV.
Methods: A systematic search of multiple databases, including PubMed-MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, African Journals online, ClinicalTrials.

Vaccination development and production was an essential question for the prevention and global control of COVID-19. The strong support from governing authorities such as Operation Warp Speed and robust funding has led to the development and authorization of the tozinameran (BNT162b2) vaccine. The BNT162b2 vaccine is a lipid nanoparticle-encapsulated mRNA that encodes for SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, the main site for neutralizing antibodies.

Amyloidoses are a family of inherited or acquired disorders characterized by the deposition of insoluble extracellular protein fibrils in various organs and tissues, thereby impairing their function. Amyloidoses are typically misfolded proteins, and on rare occasions, can deposit in the myocardium resulting in an infiltrative/restrictive cardiomyopathy. Restrictive cardiomyopathy is an underdiagnosed cause of congestive heart failure (CHF) with preserved ejection fraction, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias along with conduction defects.

Background: Though the modern era has proven to be reassuring with the advancement of perioperative care leading to improved survival, congenital heart disease (CHD) continues to underscore its significance in the lives of newborns and families worldwide. Particularly, CHD has disproportionately afflicted vulnerable minorities such as Black and Hispanic populations from the standpoint of ethnic disparities in mortality following heart surgery, increased resource utilization, and longer durations of stay. This study aims to identify and provide insight regarding the relationships between the aforementioned factors to develop targeted strategies of intervention to mitigate the outcomes for patients of these specific populations.

A novel coronavirus was identified as the cause of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China in December 2019. This cluster quickly spread across the globe and led the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) a pandemic on March 11, 2020. It's sudden emergence, ceaseless human-to-human transmission, and rapid spread has led to continuous pandemicity.

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease globally. Although Indian studies have addressed the prevalence of hypertension and its associated factors, this study focuses upon women in the reproductive age group, 15-49 years, who have undiagnosed hypertension. We use NFHS-4 data for secondary analyses of prevalence and factors associated with undiagnosed hypertension among women aged 15-49 years in India.

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is an idiosyncratic phenomenon by which a spontaneous separation of the intimal and medial layer in the coronary artery occurs with intramural hemorrhage in the absence of trauma. This intramural hematoma, in turn, leads to compression and occlusion of the arterial lumen. Unlike traumatic dissection of coronary arteries, more than half of SCAD heals spontaneously over time.

In this article, we described a rare atypical clinical case of tropical helminthiasis - a visceral gnathostomiasis with simultaneous damage of the upper and lower parts of the gastrointestinal tract. The visceral form is the rarest variant and among the literary data, only single cases of this form are described in the world. Therefore the management of such patients requires an individual and balanced approach since it is almost impossible to predict the consequences of any medical interventions.
