Background: Although the utility of laser fiber in microscopic stapes surgery has been documented in the past, their role can be highly emphasized in endoscopic stapes surgery, especially in difficult anatomical situations.
Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of cases where a total of 46 patients (22 in conventional stapedotomy and 24 in CO laser-assisted stapedotomy) were included in the study. The clinical parameters were assessed both in the preoperative and postoperative periods in the respective groups and later compared 12 weeks after stapedotomy.

Introduction: Organophosphorus (OP) compounds, with their lipophilicity, are responsible for a spectrum comprising of acute cholinergic symptoms, intermediate syndrome, as well as delayed neurological sequelae in the form of OP-induced delayed neuropathy and subsequently, myeloneuropathy with predominantly thoracic cord affection, manifested on partial recovery of the neuropathy. The pathogenesis of this myeloneuropathy in humans is still not well perceived.
Aim Of Study: To determine the onset and course of development of delayed myeloneuropathy in patients of OP poisoning.

Pemphigus, a group of autoimmune bullous diseases, can be fatal, resulting from overwhelming opportunistic infection of lesions secondary to cutaneous bacterial infections. This study aimed to look into the cutaneous bacterial infection profile of pemphigus patients as timely identification and appropriate treatment can play a major role in reducing mortality. Pus samples/swabs received from patients with pemphigus over a 2-year period from July 2018 to June 2020 were subjected to standard microbiological culture techniques and susceptibility testing.

Majority of acute cervical spinal cord injury end up requiring long-term stay in intensive care unit (ICU). During the initial few days after spinal cord injury, most patients are hemodynamically unstable requiring intravenous vasopressors. However, many studies have noted that long-term intravenous vasopressors remain the main reason for prolongation of ICU stay.

Biliary fistula and bile leak are known complications following hepatobiliary surgery, trauma, and percutaneous biliary interventions. In the case of an isolated biliary system with a prolonged indwelling percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) catheter, a biliary-cutaneous fistula (BCF) may develop after catheter blockage or its accidental slippage. Due to the absence of internal drainage, secreted bile flows through the matured PTBD tract to form a fistula.

Shortage of organ donors is the most important obstacle standing in the way of lifesaving organ transplantation in a myriad of patients suffering from end-stage organ failure. It is vital that the transplant societies and associated appropriate authorities develop strategies to overcome the unmet needs for organ donation. The power of prominent social media (SoMe) platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, which reach millions of people, can increase awareness, provide education, and may ameliorate the pessimism toward organ donation among the general population.

An observational study was conducted to evaluate (1) the incidence rates of infection-related ventilator-associated complication (IVAC) and possible ventilator-associated pneumonia (PVAP) among mechanically ventilated patients of adult medical and surgical intensive care units (ICUs) and (2) the pathogen distribution in patients with PVAP. The IVAC and PVAP rates of medical and surgical ICUs, between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2021, per 1,000 mechanical ventilator (MV) days were calculated. The significance of difference in IVAC and PVAP rates between medical and surgical ICUs was calculated.
