Background: Transdermal buprenorphine is used for the management of postoperative pain. Its effectiveness for the postoperative pain management following mandibular resection and reconstruction has yet to be evaluated.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of transdermal buprenorphine patch (TBP) in managing postoperative pain after mandibular resection and reconstruction with anterior iliac crest graft.

The tribological performance of basalt fiber reinforced PEEK material especially used as a biomaterial in many biomedical and dental applications is of interest. The specimens of three different weight fractions of PEEK and basalt fiber are fabricated as per ASTM G99 standards. The prepared specimens are having PEEK and basalt fiber in the weight percentage of 90:10, 80:20 and 70:30 ratio and named as PBC 1, PBC 2 and PBC 3 respectively.

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma arising from minor salivary glands at the base of the tongue is rare. Surgical excision of the tumours remains the primary treatment of choice. The prognosis of this tumour depends on optimum clearance of the disease surgically, clinical staging and histopathological grading.

Sigmoid sinus diverticulum without pulsatile tinnitus occurring concurrently with chronic otitis media mucosal type.

Sigmoid sinus diverticulum is a rare vascular anomaly often associated with pulsatile tinnitus. It can occur in cases of chronic otitis media squamous type (unsafe type) due to dehiscence of the sigmoid sinus plate caused by cholesteatoma. The presentation of which is that of pulsatile tinnitus.

Fixation with multiple K-wires and PRP injection as an effective way to manage heel pad avulsion.

The treatment of acute heel pad avulsion differs significantly from managing other soft tissue injuries due to its unique soft tissue structure. This case report outlines a scenario involving a male in his 20s who suffered heel pad avulsion without a calcaneal fracture but with an ipsilateral medial malleolus fracture after a twisting injury to the ankle caused by a road traffic accident. Immediate action was taken within 24 hours of the injury, involving thorough debridement of the wound, fixation to the calcaneum using multiple K-wires, primary suturing and internal fixation of the medial malleolus with two cannulated cancellous screws.

Hepcidin remains high in ACD, preventing utilisation of iron for heme synthesis. Vitamin D has shown hepcidin suppression activity in both in vitro and in vivo studies.
