The profunda femoris artery (PFA) is the largest branch of the femoral artery (FA) in the femoral triangle and is the chief arterial supply for the adductors, flexors, and extensors of the thigh, as well as the hip joint and the femur. Unilateral anomalous origin and variant course of the PFA were observed during the routine cadaveric dissection for undergraduate teaching. Of note, the FA gave only a few muscular branches, whereas all the other significant arteries of the front of the thigh took their origin from the anomalous profunda femoris artery.

Introduction: Remdesivir, an antiviral drug, received an emergency use authorization for treating coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. Though many studies have reported the safety aspects of this antiviral agent, most of them were observed in severely ill COVID-19 patients, making very less data available in the moderately ill patients. The present study was conducted with an objective of finding the adverse events (AEs) associated with remdesivir in moderately ill COVID-19 patients.

There is a paucity of literature on the prevalence, predictors, prognostic markers, and outcomes of sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction (SMD) in pediatric septic shock. The objectives of our study were to estimate the prevalence of SMD in pediatric septic shock by point-of-care functional echocardiography (POCFE) and to study the association of SMD with severity of illness, organ dysfunctions, and outcomes. This prospective, observational study was conducted over a period of 1 year (from July 2018 to July 2019) in a 12-bed, tertiary pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of an academic and referral hospital in South India.

Urothelial bladder cancer (UBC) is a frequently occurring malignancy of the urinary tract. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the mRNA and immunohistochemical (IHC) expression of protein kinase human monopolar spindle 1 (hMps1/TTK) gene in transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder and correlate its expression with the clinicopathological characteristics of patients. In the present study, quantitative real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to evaluate TTK mRNA expression in TCC.
