Background: Gonorrhoea is increasing in France since its resurgence in the late 1990's. Understanding trends of condomless sex is a requirement to tailor prevention toward most exposed individuals. This study aims to analyse trends and determinants of condomless penetrative sex (PS) in MSM and heterosexuals diagnosed with gonorrhoea in France.

Diagnoses of bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STI) have been increasing in France since their resurgence in the late 1990s. This article presents recent epidemiological trends until 2016 and the patients' characteristics. STI surveillance relies on sentinel networks: a clinician-based network RésIST (clinical, biological and behavioural data for early syphilis and gonorrhoea), the lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) network (clinical, biological and behavioural data for rectal LGV, and the laboratory networks Rénachla and Rénago (demographic and biological data for chlamydial infections and gonorrhoea, respectively).

Objectives: Characterizing the molecular epidemiology of antibiotic resistance is crucial for a better understanding of the evolution and spread of resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Here, we examine the molecular epidemiology of penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae (PPNG) isolates in France.

Two extended-spectrum cephalosporin-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates were discovered among 6,340 (0.03%) French isolates between 2010 and 2014. One isolate corresponded to the F89 multidrug-resistant N.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and mechanisms of azithromycin resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae French isolates from 2013 to 2014.
Methods: N. gonorrhoeae samples isolated in a network of laboratories were tested for susceptibility to azithromycin between April 2013 and March 2014.

Objective: We aimed at developing a method to recover trophoblastic cells from the cervix through a completely non-invasive approach and obtaining a genetic proof of their fetal nature implying that they can be used for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD).
Methods: We studied obstetrical samples from 21 pregnant women between 8 and 12 weeks of gestation scheduled for chorionic villus sampling or undergoing elective termination of pregnancy. A cytobrush was used to extract cells from the external parts of the cervix and transferred to 10 ml of preservative solution.
Objective: To test whether p1l6(INK4a) immunocytochemistry (ICC) in liquid-based cytology (LBC) is useful with colposcopy in abnormal Pap smears.
Study Design: A series of 248 women with abnormal Pap smear were analyzed for oncogenic (HR) human papillomavirus (HPV) types using the Hybrid Capture II assay and for p16(INK4a) expression using ICC on cervical samples in PreservCyt liquid media. Colposcopic and loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) cone biopsy were the gold standard.

Objective: To investigate whether ploidy and oncogenic human papillomavirus types can be correlated with the histological grade of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in the same tissue sections.
Design: Histological data were obtained from 292 dysplastic lesions of the cervix and classified according to the CIN and the Bethesda terminologies. The samples were analysed using Feulgen-stained image analysis cytometry for ploidy and Human papillomaviruses DNA typing by in situ hybridisation, respectively.
