Introduction: The use of cisplatin in clinical practice in the management of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is limited by its toxicity and acquired resistance, which makes the decision-making process of its prescription multifactorial.
Methods: An Egyptian expert panel (comprising nine Egyptian oncologists) meeting was held after a comprehensive literature review on the use of cisplatin in HNSCC. The panel aimed to develop a consensus on evidence-based recommendations for receiving cisplatin in the chemoradiotherapy management of HNSCC in Egyptian clinical practice.
To describe an esthetic orthodontic treatment using aligners in an adult patient with dental class II malocclusion associated with crowding. A 25-year-old female patient with skeletal class I, bilateral class II relation, increased overjet and overbite and crowding in both arches presented for orthodontic treatment. The patient refused conventional fixed multibracket treatment in favor of aligners.

Coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is a considerably dangerous disease with a high demise rate around the world. There is no known vaccination or medicine until our time because the unknown aspects of the virus are more significant than our theoretical and experimental knowledge. One of the most effective strategies for comprehending and controlling the spread of this epidemic is to model it using a powerful mathematical model.

Slower recovery process is expected when treating a patient with several comorbidities like Turner syndrome. Turner syndrome patients are vulnerable and should be extensively monitored to lower late presentation rates.

The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of US-guided caudal block versus US-guided peripheral nerve blocks (femoral and sciatic nerve blocks) in providing perioperative analgesia in pediatrics undergoing unilateral lower limb surgery.
Methods: Children aged 1-12 years scheduled for unilateral lower limb surgery during the period from January 2020 to December 2021 were randomly allocated into two groups.

In open bite cases, a comprehensive diagnostic differentiation is crucial in determining the best corrective therapy. In non-surgical open bite treatment, fixed appliances, either labial or lingual, are usually employed. With the addition of extra-radicular screws, more sophisticated orthodontic movements may now be performed without the necessity for orthognathic surgery.

Using sequence capture genotyping of target genic and non-genic regions, we genotyped 44 parent trees and 1520 offspring trees representing 26 polycross (PX) families collected from three progeny test sites using 45,378 SNPs. Trees were phenotyped for eight traits related to growth, heartwood and foliar chemistry associated with wood durability and deer browse resistance.

The current understanding of the impact of natural cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) variability on cloud properties in marine air is low, thus contributing to climate prediction uncertainty. By analyzing cloud remote sensing observations (2009-2015) at Mace Head (west coast of Ireland), we show the oceanic biota impact on the microphysical properties of stratiform clouds over the Northeast Atlantic Ocean. During spring to summer (seasons of enhanced oceanic biological activity), clouds typically host a higher number of smaller droplets resulting from increased aerosol number concentration in the CCN relevant-size range.

Background And Aim: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in full-coded patients requires effective chest compressions with minimal interruptions to maintain adequate perfusion to the brain and other vital organs. Many novel approaches have been proposed to attain better organ perfusion compared to traditional CPR techniques. The purpose of this review is to investigate the safety and efficacy of heads-up CPR versus supine CPR.

Colocynth has a long history of use in traditional medicine for treatment of various inflammatory diseases where it is commonly roasted before being applied for medical purposes to reduce its toxicity. This study aims at tracking the effect of heat processing on the metabolic profile of the peels, pulps and seeds of colocynth fruit using UPLC-QqQ-MS-based metabolomics. The analysis resulted in tentative identification of 72 compounds belonging to different chemical classes.

This study attempts to enhance the mixture instability of methanol/hydrous methanol mixed with diesel fuel, waste cooking oil (WCO) biodiesel, and Jet A-1 fuel using -octanol and -decanol as cosolvent at numerous temperatures of 10 °C, 20 °C, and 30 °C. The experiment is divided into two stages: first, blending pure methanol with diesel oil, Jet A-1, and WCO biodiesel individually utilizing -octanol and -decanol as cosolvent at various temperatures. Second, combining hydrous methanol (90% methanol + 10 wt% water) with diesel oil, Jet A-1, and WCO biodiesel independently and applying -octanol and -decanol as cosolvent at different temperatures.

A comprehensive approach of untargeted and targeted fatty acid bioprofiling of different royal jelly commercial and pharmaceutical products based on HPTLC-image analysis and melanoma cytotoxic activity together with chemometric analysis was applied in this study for discovering efficient biomarkers. Principal component analysis based on HPTLC-image analysis fingerprints of fatty acid loading plots were used to determine the chemical markers responsible for classification of royal jelly samples into fresh and lyophilized ones. These markers were identified using the HPTLC-MS technique as 8-hydroxyoctanoic acid, 3,10-dihydroxydecanoic acid, 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid, decanedioic acid and 10-hydroxydecanoic acid.
