Emotion Regulation in Toddlerhood: Regulatory Strategies in Anger and Fear Eliciting Contexts at 24 and 30 Months.

The study investigated the emergence of toddlers' regulatory strategies in aversive contexts. Forty-two toddlers were observed at 24 and 30 months of age using two paradigms designed to elicit fear and anger. We examined toddlers' use of regulatory strategies at these two stages of life regarding the frequency of self-versus other-oriented strategies and of reactive versus more controlled behaviors.

Sex-Related Outcomes in Asymptomatic Patients Undergoing Carotid Artery Stenting.

Purpose: Aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of sex in asymptomatic patients undergoing carotid artery stenting (CAS).

Materials And Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted from January 2006 to December 2020. A total of 438 consecutive patients with asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis >70% underwent transfemoral CAS and were stratified in males (M) and females (F).

Background: Chronic inflammation and cumulative oxidative stress have been theorized as two common pathways of the interconnection between periodontitis and diabetes. Etruscans, people living in Etruria (Umbria and Tuscany, Italy), were the first to make dentures and false teeth, from 700 BCE onwards. The aim of this study was to investigate, through archaeological and anthropological records, the Etruscans ability in dental practice to understand better Greek's influence on their medical knowledge and, subsequently, the transmission of their medical expertise to Romans. We extensively searched literature to find out references in previous studies on Etruscan medical and dental practice by using keywords such as "Etruscan medicine" and "Etruscan dentistry.

The new Italian registry of infantile thrombosis (RITI): A reflection on its journey, challenges and pitfalls.

Introduction: Thrombotic events in neonates and children represent a rare although severe occurrence in view of the associated risk of mortality and sequelae. Quality evidence is limited in this field, and registry studies provide an essential base for research. The aim of this paper is to present the new Italian Registry of Infantile Thrombosis (RITI), set it into the scene of international thrombosis and stroke registries, and provide some insight on the challenges associated with registry management.

Prevalence of poliovirus neutralizing antibodies in Italian population: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: The introduction of anti-poliomyelitis vaccines has driven progress toward the global eradication of wild polioviruses, a millennium goal of the World Health Organization. With the vaccination campaigns carried out since 1964, in 2002 Italy was certified polio-free, considering that no cases had been recorded since 1983. Background And Objectives: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) develops due to impaired hepatic lipid fluxes and is a risk factor for chronic liver disease and atherosclerosis. Lipidomic studies consistently reported characteristic hepatic/VLDL "lipid signatures" in NAFLD; whole plasma traits are more debated. Surprisingly, the HDL lipid composition by mass spectrometry has not been characterised across the NAFLD spectrum, despite HDL being a possible source of hepatic lipids delivered from peripheral tissues alongside free fatty acids (FFA).

Unraveling the Role of Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor β/Δ (PPAR β/Δ) in Angiogenesis Associated with Multiple Myeloma.

Growing evidence suggests a role for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor β/δ (PPAR β/δ) in the angiogenesis, growth, and metastasis of solid tumors, but little is known about its role in multiple myeloma (MM). Angiogenesis in the bone marrow (BM) is characteristic of disease transition from monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) to MM. We examined the expression and function of PPAR β/δ in endothelial cells (EC) from the BM of MGUS (MGEC) and MM (MMEC) patients and showed that PPAR β/δ was expressed at higher levels in MMEC than in MGEC and that the overexpression depended on myeloma plasma cells.

Arterial pseudoaneurysms represent an uncommon complication of acute pancreatic inflammation or chronic pancreatitis. We describe a contained rupture of a suprarenal abdominal aortic pseudoaneurysm. An aorto-uni-iliac stent-graft was adopted as the aortic main body and was combined with two chimneys and two periscope stents for celiac/superior mesenteric artery and renal arteries, respectively.

For analysis purposes, patients were grouped according to the type of alkylator included in the conditioning (busulfan [BU]-based; n = 618; 79%; treosulfan [TREO]-based; n=162; 21%).

Nutraceuticals are gaining more and more importance as a knee osteoarthritis (KOA) complementary treatment. Among nutraceuticals, hemp seed oil and terpenes are proving to be very useful as therapeutic support for many chronic diseases, but there are still few studies regarding their effectiveness for treating KOA, both in combination and separately. The aim of this study is thus to compare the effect of two dietary supplements, both containing hemp seed oil, but of which only one also contains terpenes, in relieving pain and improving joint function in patients suffering from KOA.

Ultrasound Control of Cervical Regeneration after Large Loop Excision of the Transformation Zone: Results of an Innovative Measurement Technique.

The objective of this research is to evaluate cervical regeneration after large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ) through the identification of a new sonographic reference point at the level of the uterine margins. In the period March 2021-January 2022, a total of 42 patients affected by CIN 2-3 were treated with LLETZ at the University Hospital of Bari (Italy). Before performing LLETZ, cervical length and volume were measured with trans-vaginal 3D ultrasound.
