Background: Higher prenatal testosterone exposure regulates brain development and affects learning and intelligence directly. The digit ratio (2D:4D) is regarded as an indicator of prenatal testosterone exposure. This study aims to investigate the 2D:4D ratios and intelligence levels in individuals with specific learning disorders (SLD) and compare the ratios with healthy subjects.

Congenital Fibrosis of Extraocular Muscles: A Retrospective Study of 76 Patients.

Background Congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles (CFEOM) is a non-progressive sporadic or familial disease characterized by abnormal innervation of the extraocular muscles. Radiologically Guided Versus Blinded Intra-articular Injection in Patients With Hip Osteoarthritis: A Retrospective Comparative Study.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to present the clinical results of patients with Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) stage 2-4 hip osteoarthritis who were administered intra-articular corticosteroid (CS) or hyaluronic acid (HA), with or without fluoroscopy.

Methods: This retrospective comparative study was conducted in the clinics where the authors worked between 2010 and 2018. Patients with stage 2-4 hip osteoarthritis according to KL criteria were included in the study.

Accuracy of emergency physicians' interpretation of computed tomography for urgent-emergent diagnoses in nontraumatic cases.

Comparison of diagnostic accuracy of point-of-care ultrasonography and X-ray of bony injuries of the knee.

Purpose: We aimed to compare the accuracy of point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS) and X-ray (XR) in the diagnosis of knee bone fractures and fracture characteristics in cases of injuries to the knee.

Methods: The study was conducted in the emergency department (ED) of a tertiary hospital between March 2017 and March 2019. It included patients who presented to the ED with isolated knee injuries, were suspected to have a bony lesion based on clinical examinations, and were ultimately referred for XR.

Comparison of obstetric and neonatal outcomes between Syrian adolescent refugees and local Turkish adolescent citizens.

The provision of antenatal care in adolescents in refugee populations presents particular difficulties because of conflict, nutritional deficiencies, language barriers and lack of access to health care facilities. Objectives: This study investigated whether the Valsalva manoeuvre (VM) could be an alternative to use of the tenaculum for intrauterine device (IUD) insertion. The aims were to establish whether VM could provide good patient comfort and enable the insertion to be performed successfully with adequate pain control in cases where the cervix could not be passed spontaneously.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate central retinal artery (CRA) hemodynamics in the healthy eye of individuals developing late monocular blindness (LMB) using colored Doppler ultrasonography.The CRAs of 13 healthy eyes of 13 patients with LMB and of 13 healthy individuals as a control group were evaluated in this prospective study.

Vitamin D Levels in Young Adult Cataract Patients: A Case-Control Study.

Objective: We aimed to investigate whether a relationship is present between early cataract formation and vitamin D in young adults.

Methods: A total of 37 cataract patients (18 males and 19 females) and 53 healthy participants (27 males and 26 females) under the age of 60 years were included in this study. The 25-OH vitamin D values were measured in all subjects and the mean vitamin D levels compared between the 2 groups.

Teratomas are germ cell tumors arising from the embryonic germ layers. Since they originate from the germ cells, they can be found in the gonadal, sacrococcygeal, mediastinal, intracranial, retroperitoneal, and cervical regions. In this case report, a 4-year boy, brought to the hospital due to abdominal pain and fever, was diagnosed as a large and infected peritoneal teratoma by contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography (CT) along with abdominal CT and operative findings.

Giant colonic lipoma causing intussusception: CT scan and clinical findings.

Colonic lipomas are uncommon and usually asymptomatic tumors. A 30-year-old woman with abdominal pain lasting 10 days was admitted to the surgical clinic. Her physical examination revealed sensitivity on the right upper quadrant and her bowel sounds were normal.

There are several agents nowadays to provide sufficient analgesia. The agents which cause less side effects but better quality of analgesia are more valuable.
