NQO1 disruption enhances susceptibility to oxidative stress during hyperglycemia and is a significant contributor to the development and progression of diabetes. Oxidative stress has been linked to several symptoms, including hyperglycemia, reactive oxygen species buildup, high blood pressure, and the expression of inflammatory markers. Therefore, the present research aimed to evaluate the genetic abnormality of NQO1 (rs1800566, C609T) gene polymorphism, expression, and vitamin-D level assessment among Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.

Graves' disease (GD) is an autoimmune condition of the thyroid. The hyperthyroidism manifested by patients affected by this disease is caused by the production of autoantibodies against the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH, or thyrotropin) receptor (TSHR), which mimic the effects of the hormone on thyroid cells, thereby stimulating autonomic production of thyroxine and triiodothyronine. Deciding on a therapeutic approach to this condition presents intricate dilemmas for both clinicians and patients.

Pregnancy and lactation are critical periods for human well-being and are sensitive windows for pollutant exposure. Bisphenol A (BPA) is well demonstrated as a toxicant and has been replaced in the plastic industry with other bisphenol analogs that share similarities in structure and characteristics, most commonly Bisphenol S (BPS) and Bisphenol F (BPF). Maternal exposure to BPS or BPF can result in their accumulation in the fetal compartment, leading to chronic exposure and potentially limiting normal fetal growth and development.
