Article Synopsis
  • Hepatic lesions like hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and hepatocellular adenoma (HCA) are difficult to distinguish due to similar imaging traits, making accurate diagnosis crucial for treatment decisions.
  • A study involving 103 patients assessed the use of Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) and Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) values to differentiate between HCC and HCA, finding significant differences in their imaging results.
  • The findings indicate that DCE-MRI parameters and ADC values can effectively differentiate between HCC and HCA, suggesting these methods could serve as valuable non-invasive diagnostic tools.

Department of Technology of Radiology and Radiotherapy, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, International Campus, Tehran, Iran.

Background: Hepatocellular adenomas (HCAs) are benign tumours that may be broken down into three different molecular pathogenic categories: catenin activator, hepatic cell nuclear agent 1 (HNF- 1) that has been inactivated, and Inflammatory hepatic adenomas are a genetic and pathological subtype of hepatic adenoma.

Methodology: An analysis of 50 HCA cases was conducted to identify the magnetic resonance imaging characteristics that were specifically related to each HCA subtype IV. This method included 50 patients in total for the study, with 30 of them being new cases.

Article Synopsis
  • Research shows miRNA-128 (miR-128) plays a crucial role in the initiation and development of various cancers, impacting immune responses.
  • There is potential for miR-128 to be used as a biomarker and a focus for new anticancer treatments due to its abnormal expression in tumors.
  • The review explores miR-128's role in multiple cancers and discusses its influence on resistance to treatments and immunotherapy through exosomes.
