It is structurally pertinent to understudy the important roles the self-compacting concrete (SCC) yield stress and plastic viscosity play in maintaining the rheological state of the concrete to flow. It is also important to understand that different concrete mixes with varying proportions of fine to coarse aggregate ratio and their nominal sizes produce different and corresponding flow- and fill-abilities, which are functions of the yield stress/plastic viscosity state conditions of the studied concrete. These factors have necessitated the development of regression models, which propose optimal rheological state behavior of SCC to ensure a more sustainable concreting.

Tamoxifen is commonly used in the treatment of hormonal-positive breast cancer. However, 30%-40% of tumors treated with tamoxifen develop resistance; therefore, an important step to overcome this resistance is to understand the underlying molecular and metabolic mechanisms. In the present work, we used metabolic profiling to determine potential biomarkers of tamoxifen resistance, and gene expression levels of enzymes important to these metabolites and then correlated the expression to the survival of patients receiving tamoxifen.

Background: Healthcare providers must possess the necessary knowledge and skills to perform effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In the event of cardiopulmonary arrest, basic life support (BLS) is the initial step in the life-saving process before the advanced CPR team arrives. BLS simulation training using manikins has become an essential teaching methodology in nursing education, enhancing newly employed nurses' knowledge and skills and empowering them to provide adequate resuscitation.

Background: Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) presents significant treatment challenges due to its chronic nature, varied clinical presentations, and rarity. Subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG) has emerged as a maintenance therapy, offering potential advantages in administration and patient experience over the previously recognized intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).
Methods: We included all clinical studies involving CIDP patients treated with SCIG from eleven databases up to March 2024.

: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the third most common cause of death globally. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) programmes are important to reduce COPD symptoms and improve the quality of life of people with COPD. Digital health interventions have recently been adopted in PR programmes, which allow people with COPD to participate in such programmes with low barriers.

In this study, a novel perovskite solar cell (PSC) architecture is presented that utilizes an HTL-free configuration with formamide tin iodide (FASnI) as the active layer and fullerene (C60) as the electron transport layer (ETL), which represents a pioneering approach within the field. The elimination of hole transport layers (HTLs) reduces complexity and cost in PSC heterojunction structures, resulting in a simplified and more cost-effective PSC structure. In this context, an HTL-free tin HC(NH)SnI-based PSC was simulated using the solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS) within a one-dimensional framework.

Fractional calculus serves as a versatile and potent tool for the modeling and control of intricate systems. This discussion debates the system of DFDEs with two regimes; theoretically and numerically. For theoretical analysis, we have established the EUE by leveraging the definition of Hilfer (α,β)-framework.

In line with the importance of L. (Lamiaciatae) in traditional medicine as a calming and sedative remedy, the present study was designed to reveal its chemical constituents and bioactivity potentials. Thus, after extraction and fractionation of the plant material, the obtained butanol fraction (BPm) was subjected to conventional chromatographic separation of its constituents in addition to LC-MS/MS evaluation versus some authentic standards.

Clinopodium menthifolium (wood calamint) is a folkloric medicinal plant ingested as a treatment for many human disorders including gastric disorders. Our study evaluates the anti-ulcer potentials of Clinopodium menthifolium ethanol extracts (CMEE) in induced gastric ulcers in rats. Thirty Dawley male rats were divided into 5 groups: normal and ulcer controls, treated orally with Tween 20%; reference rats treated with Omeprazole 20 mg/kg, and the remaining two groups received 250 and 500 mg/kg CMEE for 2 weeks.

Considerable strides in medical interventions during the acute phase of traumatic brain injury (TBI) have brought improved overall survival rates. However, following TBI, people often face ongoing, persistent and debilitating long-term complications. Here, we review the recent literature to propose possible mechanisms that lead from TBI to long-term complications, focusing particularly on the involvement of a compromised blood-brain barrier (BBB).

Empagliflozin (EMPA) showed antiapoptotic, oxidative and anti-inflammatory potential effect. EMPA attenuates the inflammation and oxidative stress biomarkers in patients with heart failure while significantly decreases the malondialdehyde (a lipid peroxidation marker) levels in the plasma of diabetic patients. The present study examined the effects of moderate hyperglycemia on reproductive function.

This study aims to assess the potential bioactivity of newly designed benzodiazepine-1,2,3-triazole derivatives using in-silico methodologies, with a primary focus on elucidating their inhibitory interactions with the butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) enzyme, which is implicated in Alzheimer's disease. We employed multiple linear regression (MLR) methods to conduct a quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) analysis on a collection of 31 benzodiazepine-1,2,3-triazole derivatives, with the goal of investigating, assessing, and predicting their activities, as well as designing novel compounds. This approach yielded highly accurate results, with coefficients of determination (R²) of 0.

A prospective cohort study investigated the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) infusion for refractory thin endometrium in 38 infertile patients. Patients showed significant improvement in endometrial thickness post-PRP injection, leading to successful implantation and pregnancy. The study revealed a negative correlation between antimullerian hormone (AMH) levels and the need for PRP interventions, suggesting higher ovarian reserve may reduce the necessity for repeated treatments.

Mature cystic teratomas (MCTs) arise from totipotent cells. While the ovaries are the most common sites, extragonadal teratomas are very rare. This case report describes the clinical details of a 20-year-old woman who was found to have a large pelvi-abdominal mass on clinical and imaging studies and elevated levels of CA-125.

Background: Cancer and multidrug resistance are regarded as concerns related to poor health outcomes. It was found that the monolayer of 2D cancer cell cultures lacks many important features compared to Multicellular Tumor Spheroids (MCTS) or 3D cell cultures which instead have the ability to mimic more closely the in vivo tumor microenvironment. This study aimed to produce 3D cell cultures from different cancer cell lines and to examine the cytotoxic activity of anticancer medications on both 2D and 3D systems, as well as to detect alterations in the expression of certain genes levels.
