The California bearing ratio (CBR) of a granular materials are influence by the soil particle distribution indices such as D10, D30, D50, and D60 and also the compaction properties such as the maximum dry density (MDD) and the optimum moisture content (OMC). For this reason, the particle packing and compactibility of the soil play a big role in the design and construction of subbases and landfills. In this research paper, experimental data entries have been collected reflecting the CBR behavior of granular soil used to construct landfill and subbase.

The higher prevalence of cancer and the unmet need for antioxidant/anti-inflammatory chemotherapeutic compounds with little side effect are of utmost importance. In addition, the increased likelihood of failure in clinical trials along with increasing development costs may have diminished the range of choices among newer drugs for clinical use. This has dictated the necessity to seek out novel medications by repurposing as it needs less time, effort, and resources to explore new uses of a current or unsuccessful medication.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is frequently associated with stroke due to debris embolization. Although the risk of stroke with newer-generation devices is lower, stroke still represents a significant cause of mortality and morbidity post-TAVR. The Sentinel cerebral embolic protection device (CEPD) is a dual-embolic filter device designed to capture debris dislodged during TAVR.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to assess self-efficacy among adolescents with type 1 diabetes mellitus and to identify its contributing factors using a new measure based on the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes Guidelines: the Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Self-Efficacy Scale (T1DM-SES).
Method: A descriptive, cross-sectional design was used to collect data from 161 adolescents ages between 12 and 18 via an online questionnaire survey, including demographic and management-related variables and the 21 items of T1DM-SES.
Results: Results demonstrated that adolescents had high self-efficacy levels regarding the basic needs to manage their diabetes and relatively moderate and low levels regarding more sophisticated needs, such as adjusting insulin dose to correct fluctuated glucose levels, covering carbohydrates, and managing ketoacidosis at home.

This work investigated the substitution of the aldehyde with a pyran functional group in D-π-aldehyde dye to improve cell performance. This strategy was suggested by recent work that synthesized D-π-aldehyde dye, which achieved a maximum absorption wavelength that was only slightly off the threshold for an ideal sensitizer. Therefore, DFT and TD-DFT were used to investigate the effect of different pyran substituents to replace the aldehyde group.
