Delayed cord clamping (DCC) has been widely adopted in both term and preterm infants to improve neonatal outcomes by increasing blood volume and supporting oxygenation. However, the optimal cord management for intrauterine growth-restricted (IUGR) infants is unclear. To systematically review and meta-analyze the effects of DCC compared to early cord clamping (ECC) in IUGR infants.

In the wake of the novel Coronavirus, it has become imperative to develop vaccines that can alert our immune system to the virus, hence reducing the severity of disease if exposed to it. Different types of vaccines have been studied in this respect, such as nucleic acid vaccines (mRNA and DNA vaccines), vector-based vaccines, whole-virus vaccines (inactivated virus and live-attenuated vaccine), as well as protein subunits vaccines. The results have demonstrated that these vaccines are efficient against both the original strain and emerging variants.

The conventional Metal cutting fluids (MCFs) used are mineral-based petroleum oils that perform well but are toxic and difficult to dispose of; therefore, these are hazardous to human health as well as the environment. This issue can be solved by using natural vegetable oil-based MCF, which are readily available, environment and human-friendly, and renewable. Therefore, we synthesized various types of emulsifiers (anionic, and nonionic with different ethylene oxide units as well as mono and gemini cationic surfactants as corrosion inhibitors and biocides) based on recycled vegetable oil (RO) from spent bleaching earth (SBE), and elucidated their chemical structures by different spectroscopic techniques.

Background: Immune dysfunction and inflammation participate in the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder (BD). Abnormal levels of inflammatory markers, namely, red cell distribution width (RDW) and platelet distribution width (PDW), were detected in BD. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for various mental disorders including BD was linked to changes in these inflammatory mediators.

An efficient one-pot reaction utilizing readily available chemical reagents was used to prepare novel 2-amino-1,5-diaryl-1H-pyrrole-3-carbonitrile derivatives and the structures of these compounds were validated by spectroscopic data and elemental analyses. All the synthetic compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activities (MZI assay). The tested compounds proved high activities on Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive bacteria) and Candida albicans (Pathogenic fungi).

Umbelliferone (UMB), 7-hydroxycoumarin, is a naturally occurring coumarin derivative that has a plethora of biological and therapeutic activities. The focus of this research was to elucidate the curative effects of two different doses of UMB on diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) in a type 2 diabetic rat model induced by 50 mg/kg body weight of streptozotocin (STZ). Diabetic rats orally received 10 or 30 mg/kg of UMB daily for 8 weeks.

Virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) pathogenesis involves liver inflammation, therefore, despite successful treatment, hepatitis C virus (HCV) may progress to HCC from initiated liver cirrhosis. Cytotoxic T cells (Tcs) are known to be involved in HCV-related cirrhotic complications and HCC pathogenesis. The inhibitory checkpoint leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1) is expressed on Tcs.
