Background: Acute myocardial infarction is a major heart disease caused by plaque formation in coronary arteries. Complications after acute myocardial infarction include readmission and physical complications such as chest pain, and limited health literacy increases the risk of complications.

Knowledge of Parents Working in Healthcare Settings Toward Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Among Children.

Aim: To examine the knowledge of parents who are working as healthcare workers about Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and to determine the predictors of ADHD knowledge in children among parents.

Methods: A cross-section study was conducted among parents who are working as HCWs. An online survey by google forms facilitated the creation of a 373 participant's sample.

Objectives: This study aimed to examine and assess job satisfaction of physicians across several factors, such as quality of care, ease of practice, relationship with leadership and inter-professional collaboration.

Methods: The data for this descriptive cross-sectional study were collected between July 2019 and January 2020. Participants provided demographic information and completed surveys related to physician job satisfaction and inter-professional collaboration.

The use of discourse markers in argumentative compositions by Jordanian EFL learners.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the use of discourse markers (DMs) in the argumentative compositions written by EFL learners at two academic stages (sophomores and seniors) majoring in English at the Hashemite University, Jordan. The significance of this study springs from its focus on the use of DMs in Jordanian EFL learners' argumentative writings. Employing an integrated research method of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the findings revealed that both groups of participants used the same types of DMs with varying degree of frequency, namely, elaborative, contrastive, reason, inferential, conclusive, and exemplifier DMs, respectively.

Background: Integrating evidence-based practice (EBP) into the daily practice of healthcare professionals has the potential to improve the practice environment as well as patient outcomes. It is essential for nurses to build their body of knowledge, standardize practice, and improve patient outcomes. This study aims to explore nursing students' beliefs and implementations of EBP, to examine the differences in students' beliefs and implementations by prior training of EBP, and to examine the relationship between the same.

Methods: A survey was carried out with 500 students in secondary schools in the northern area of Jordan.

Parenting a Child With Autism Spectrum Disorder: Perspective of Jordanian Mothers.

Introduction: Parenting a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is challenging for mothers because of concerns related to behavior, difficulties in accessing specialized care, and lack of community acceptance, yet their stories in Jordanian context are still unknown. Common challenges in Jordan include financial burdens, lack of public awareness, and lack of specialized knowledge even among health care providers, which may lead to delays in obtaining the diagnosis and interventions for ASD.

Method: A phenomenological descriptive approach was used to explore and understand the mothers' everyday lived experiences of raising a child with ASD.

Depressive Symptoms among Older Jordanian Patients with Cancer Undergoing Treatment.

Objectives: To date, predictive and risk factors for depression among older patients with cancer have not been adequately studied in the Middle Eastern countries including Jordan. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the levels of depressive symptoms, anxiety, and hope among older Jordanian patients with cancer aged 60 years and over who are currently undergoing treatment, and to identify the relationship between selected factors (socio-demographic, treatment, and psychological) and depressive symptoms.

Methods: A cross-sectional design was conducted on a convenience sample consisting of 150 patients with cancer from one of the biggest governmental hospitals in Jordan.

Second-Hand Smoke Exposure Among Coronary Heart Disease Patients.

Purpose: The objectives of this study were to assess second-hand smoke (SHS) exposure among coronary heart disease (CHD) patients at home, in transportation, workplace, public and social places; to examine the demographic factors that predict SHS exposure; and to investigate the relationship between SHS exposure and CHD complications, age at the time of diagnosis, and number of admissions in the last year.

Patients And Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used with a convenient sample of 400 CHD patients from three hospitals in Jordan. A modified version of the Smoking Scale for Adults (SS-A) was used.
