Using -rhizobia- interaction networks, we address first the soil invasion success of , and second, we report either -rhizobia partnership should form an isolated module within the symbiosis interaction network. Different indexes were used to determine model invasion success and the network topology. Our results indicated that invasion decreased soil microbial biomass, basal respiration, and enzymatic activities.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 13 (CDK13) belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) family that is actively involved in transcription regulation and RNA splicing. CDK13 binds with its partner, cyclin K, to regulate several biological processes. CDK13 and cyclin K complex phosphorylates RNA pol II carboxyl-terminal domain (CTD) at several serine residues, creating transcription elongation.

In this study, a nested grouped random parameter negative binomial framework is proposed to model crash counts at the segment level, a three-level longitudinal framework. The proposed model accounts for correlations along county routes and over time and thus includes a time variable, the year index, to analyze crash counts. The model is applied to crashes on undivided two-lane arterial roads in Ohio from 2012 to 2017.

Integrin-linked kinase (ILK), a β1-integrin cytoplasmic domain interacting protein, supports multi-protein complex formation. ILK-1 is involved in neurodegenerative diseases by promoting neuro-inflammation. On the other hand, its overexpression induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which is a major hallmark of cancer and activates various factors associated with a tumorigenic phenotype.

Piece selection policy in dynamic P2P networks play crucial role and avoid the last piece problem. BitTorrent uses rarest-first piece selection mechanism to deal with this problem, but its efficacy is limited because each peer only has a local view of piece rareness. The problem of piece section is multiple objectives.

Article Synopsis
  • Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) holds significant cultural and economic value in arid regions, yet its genetic diversity is often overlooked.
  • Researchers sequenced whole organelle genomes from 171 Tunisian date palm accessions to uncover genetic variations and evolutionary relationships, identifying unique haplotypes through SNP analysis.
  • The findings emphasize the need for conservation and sustainable use of date palm genetic resources, particularly in Tunisia, where monoculture poses a risk to biodiversity, suggesting potential avenues for breeding improvements.

Metal-insulator transition and resistive switching in Y-doped CeO ceramics.

Phys Chem Chem Phys

December 2023

University of Sheffield, Dept of Materials Science & Engineering, Mappin St, Sheffield S1 3JD, UK.

Y-doped ceria, YCeO, is an oxide ion conductor that shows n-type conductivity under a small applied voltage. With increasing voltage, resistive switching by 2-3 orders of magnitude occurs that is reversible with some hysteresis and is enhanced in atmospheres of reduced pO. The switching is a bulk effect, is not associated with Schottky barriers or with a crystallographic transition, occurs rapidly after a premonitory onset period depending on conditions and shows characteristics of a Mott transition.

Nanozymes and carbon-dots based nanoplatforms for cancer imaging, diagnosis and therapeutics: Current trends and challenges.

Environ Res

January 2024

Department of Epidemic Disease Research, Institute for Research and Medical Consultations (IRMC), Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam 31441, Saudi Arabia. Electronic address:

Cancer patients face a significant clinical and socio-economic burden due to increased incidence, mortality, and poor survival. Factors like late diagnosis, recurrence, drug resistance, severe side effects, and poor bioavailability limit the scope of current therapies. There is a need for novel, cost-effective, and safe diagnostic methods, therapeutics to overcome recurrence and drug resistance, and drug delivery vehicles with enhanced bioavailability and less off-site toxicity.

Physicochemical investigation of mercury sorption on mesoporous thioacetamide/chitosan from wastewater.

Chemosphere

November 2023

Chemistry Department, Faculty of Women for Art, Science, And Education, Ain Shams University, Heliopolis, Cairo, 11757, Egypt.

Mercury is a toxic environmental element, so it was necessary to prepare a new, highly efficient, cheap sorbent to remove it. A mesoporous thioacetamide/chitosan (MTA/CS) was manufactured via a simplistic strategy; the chitin deacetylation to gain chitosan (CS) and the addition of thioacetamide. The as-prepared MTA/CS was characterized using X-ray diffraction, EDX, SEM, FTIR, and BET surface analysis.
