Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the importance of pullout location and clasp types in two different environments to dislodge the clasp.
Materials And Methods: Mandibular test models with natural premolars and molar teeth were used to test four types of clasp (each 12) (Akers, Rest plate Akers, Half and Half, and Ring clasp) with three different pullout location for each type (ring on the rest, loop on the saddle, and wax arising from both rests) in dry and natural fresh saliva environment. Each clasp was pulled out 10 times with a crosshead speed of 10 mm/min, and the force required to withdraw each was measured.

Purpose: The objective was to assess the reliability level of mini-plate fixation used in fracture mandibles in order to evaluate the structure stability in both convalescence and healing periods.
Methods: In the convalescence period, the failure scenario is measured by the relative displacement between two fracture surfaces which should not exceed an acceptable value in order to obtain a good stability for rapid bone healing and to limit any trauma. However, in the healing period, it is the objective to obtain an acceptable rigidity.

Background: Since the majority of morphological changes evaluation of myocardium in ischaemic heart disease was in animal model, we detected the importance to evaluate such changes in human patients to gain insights into the targets of cellular damage and to reconcile or refine those experiments.
Methods: Tissue sections from left atrial appendage of the heart were carefully dissected from seventy five patients underwent conventional coronary artery bypass grafting at the cardiothoracic surgical department, Manchester Royal Infirmary. Tissue was fixed, sectioned, stained and six random sections were photographed and the images were assessed and quantified using Image Analyser Pro-Plus software, version 4.

Purpose: To explore the validity of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) as one of many predictive tools that can be used (alone or in conjunction) to help in identifying high-risk cases of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) that should get the earliest possible referral to a sleep specialist for standard diagnostic polysomnography, and to identify imaging airway parameters that may be predictive of OSA severity.
Methods: Using a case-control design, 45 subjects matched by age and sex (22 OSA cases and 23 controls) were included in this study. Subjects were assigned as cases depending on a sleep study with apnea-hypopnea index (AHI)>5 and as controls depending on a Berlin questionnaire score identifying low risk or no risk of OSA.
