Pilarowski-Bjornsson Syndrome (PBS) is a recently identified and rare genetic disorder. PBS is caused by missense variants in the CHD1 gene, a chromatin remodeler and helicase DNA-binding protein. In this report, we present the first case of PBS in Saudi Arabia.

Background: Early-onset neonatal bacterial sepsis (EOS) is a serious medical condition where pathogenic bacterial species are isolated from the blood of newborns within the first 72 hours of life. Although this disease is often found incidentally during appendectomy, it is crucial to differentiate it from acute appendicitis preoperatively to select adequate surgical management. Tocilizumab effectiveness in mechanically ventilated COVID-19 patients (T-MVC-19 Study): a multicenter real-world evidence.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of tocilizumab in mechanically ventilated patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Research Design And Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included adults (≥18 years) diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) from nasopharyngeal swab, and requiring invasive mechanical ventilation during admission. Survival analyses with inverse propensity score treatment weighting (IPTW) and propensity score matching (PSM) were conducted.

Background: Several techniques were developed for managing hemorrhoidal disease, but their use in clinical practice and the general management of the condition seems highly variable in Saudi Arabia.

Consensus Panel: To develop consensus recommendations that ensure the best possible diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhoidal disease in Saudi Arabia, the consensus panel consisted of experts in surgery in Saudi Arabia who met from December 2017 to September 2018.

Objectives: To develop evidence-based recommendations for clinicians caring for adults with acute or acute on chronic liver failure in the ICU.

Design: The guideline panel comprised 29 members with expertise in aspects of care of the critically ill patient with liver failure and/or methodology. The Society of Critical Care Medicine standard operating procedures manual and conflict-of-interest policy were followed throughout.
