Aims: We aimed to determine the use of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) and to identify clinical factors associated with their use in patients with heart failure (HF) in a real-life setting.
Methods: Real-world data on Empagliflozin and Dapagliflozin use in patients with HEART failure: The RED-HEART study is a multicentre, cross-sectional and observational study that included HF patients in the outpatient setting regardless of ejection fraction from 19 cardiology centres between August 2023 and December 2023.
Results: The study population consisted of 1923 patients with HF, predominantly men (61.

Background: Determining the self-efficacy perceptions of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients has a key role in health care practices. With further evaluation, the Self-Efficacy Measure for Sleep Apnea (SEMSA) could serve as a useful scale to develop specific interventions to increase self-efficacy in patients with OSA during the acceptance and maintenance of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.
Objective: The aim of this study is to translate the SEMSA into Turkish and to evaluate the psychometric properties of the translation.

Cases of embedded unexploded ordnance are extremely rare and pose a risk to bystanders and health providers. A patient arrived at the Role 2 medical facility in the Turkish army, whose left arm was amputated due to a terrorist attack and major hemorrhages had been halted by clamping of the left subclavian artery and vein. A piece of metal wire running from the lateral chest wall was detected as an unexploded ordnance piece and it was removed surgically.

Objective: To determine pre-delivery fibrinogen levels in predicting adverse maternal or neonatal outcomes in patients with placental abruption.
Materials And Method: We conducted a retrospective study of all women admitted for placental abruption between January 2012 and May 2018. Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), massive blood transfusion and hospitalization in intensive care unit parameters were evaluated for maternal outcomes.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the correlation between macular thickness, retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, ganglion cell complex thickness, and Gensini scores in patients who have undergone coronary angiography, using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated optical coherence tomography results from patients who had undergone coronary angiography between January 2019 and January 2021 due to coronary artery disease, with angiography performed within one month of the optical coherence tomography examination. Based on their Gensini scores, patients were classified into two groups: mild coronary artery disease (Gensini score ≤ 20, Group 1) and severe coronary artery disease (Gensini score > 20, Group 2).

Background: Despite the lack of supporting data, many clinics perform sheath removal 4-6 hours after femoral percutaneous coronary intervention to reduce the risk of possible access site complications. This study aims to examine the effects of sheath removal immediately after the procedure on access site complications and patient comfort.
Methods: This prospective study included 349 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention via the femoral site and 6 French guiding catheters.

Objective: Fingertip-reactive hyperemia-peripheral artery tonometry (RH-PAT) is an emerging novel noninvasive method for evaluating endothelial function. We aimed to evaluate endothelial function with fingertip-reactive hyperemia by RH-PAT in symptomatic patients undergoing elective coronary angiography and to assess the relationship between the degree of endothelial dysfunction (ED) and the presence and the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD).
Subjects And Methods: We assessed 92 patients.

Objective: The D-SPIRIT registry is designed to investigate the safety and effectiveness of dabigatran etexilate in patients with atrial fibrillation in routine clinical practice.
Methods: D-SPIRIT is the first national, multicenter, prospective, observational, postmarketing registry that investigates the usage of dabigatran in real life. A total of 326 noveloral anticoagulant-eligible patients with atrial fibrillation who have been taking dabigatran etexilate therapy for stroke prevention at least 6 months from 9 different centers were enrolled into the registry.

Background: Myocardial bridge (MB) is generally considered as a benign condition, but it may trigger atherosclerosis, especially in the adjacent proximal coronary artery segment. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether the Framingham risk score (FRS) or atherogenic indices are risk factors for coronary atherosclerosis in patients with MB in the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD).
Methods: We performed a retrospective study evaluating 155 patients who have MB in LAD.

Background: Some of the drugs used for the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can increase the risk of corrected QT (QTc) interval prolongation, which may trigger arrhythmia or even death. Due to the low sensitivity of the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, chest computed tomography (CT) imaging is being used for COVID-19 diagnostic correlation and to evaluate whether there is pneumonic involvement in the lung.
Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate the correlation between lung changes on CT and QTc interval changes on ECG in non-ICU patients with COVID-19 who have a positive PCR test when using drugs that can prolong the QTc interval.

Takayasu's arteritis is a chronic, non-specific primary and inflammatory disease of large vessels, especially the aorta and its branches. Although pulmonary artery involvement is common, clinical signs of pulmonary artery involvement as the initial presentation is rare. Considering Takayasu's arteritis in the early diagnosis is important.
