Targeted inhibition of BET proteins in HPV16-positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma reveals heterogeneous transcriptional responses.

Human papillomaviruses (HPV), most commonly HPV16, are associated with a subset of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) tumors, primarily oropharyngeal carcinomas, with integration of viral genomes into host chromosomes associated with worse survival outcomes. We analyzed TCGA data and found that HPV+ HNSCC expressed higher transcript levels of the bromodomain and extra terminal domain (BET) family of transcriptional coregulators. The role of BET protein-mediated transcription of viral-cellular genes in the viral-HNSCC genomes needs to be better understood.

Legislation and policy for involuntary mental healthcare across countries in the FOSTREN network: rationale, development of mapping survey and protocol.

Background: Several countries are currently revising or have already revised their mental health laws to align with the global movement to reduce the use of coercive care. No government has yet fully implemented the recommendation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) to eliminate the use of coercion in mental healthcare. Consequently, the international field of mental health law and policy is in a degree of flux.

Facial emotion recognition in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Objective: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is defined as a persistent pattern of inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning anofd development. Increased emotional reactivity and impaired emotion regulation are established findings in children with ADHD. Impairments in executive functions such as impulse control and working memory, in turn, have also been suggested to have a negative effect on emotion recognition.

Self-reported health, function, and use of health care services in older prostate cancer survivors compared to matched controls: a cross-sectional study.

Purpose: Information about outcomes of particular relevance to older prostate cancer survivors is limited. This study aimed to compare health, activities of daily living (ADL), and use of health care services between survivors and matched controls.

Methods: A single-centre study on men treated for prostate cancer with curative intent at the age ≥ 70 years 2 to 7 years earlier.

Species-level verification of association with colorectal cancer.

We have previously demonstrated an association between increased abundance of and colorectal cancer (CRC) and adenomas in two independent Norwegian cohorts. Here we seek to verify our previous findings using new cohorts and methods. In addition, we characterize lifestyle and sex specificity, the functional potential of the species, and their interaction with other microbial species.

Long-Term Outcomes of Arthroscopically Verified Focal Cartilage Lesions in the Knee: A 19-Year Multicenter Follow-up with Patient-Reported Outcomes.

Background: Focal cartilage lesions (FCLs) are frequently found during knee arthroscopies and may impair quality of life (QoL) significantly. Several treatment options with good short-term results are available, but the natural history without any treatment is largely unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), the need for subsequent cartilage surgery, and the risk of treatment failure 20 years after diagnosis of an FCL in the knee.

Introduction: We have previously shown that immigrants have lower attendance in BreastScreen Norway than non-immigrants and that non-Western immigrants have lower incidence of breast cancer, but more advanced disease.

Torque Teno Virus (TTV) is a non-pathogenic anellovirus, highly prevalent in healthy populations. Variations in its viral load have been associated with states of diminished immunity, as occurs after organ transplantation. It is hypothesized that TTV-load might be used as a diagnostic tool to guide prescription and dosing of immunosuppressive drugs.

Purpose: Discharge summaries are important tools for communication between health care levels and can ensure continuity of rehabilitation. This study aims to gain insight into the content of discharge summaries written by hospital physiotherapists and occupational therapists regarding patients with stroke, and their adherence to recommended criteria for discharge summaries.

Material And Methods: 31 physiotherapy and multidisciplinary discharge summaries, for stroke patients discharged home from hospital with need of follow-up, were included in the study.

Background: Noninvasive assessment of elevated filling pressure in the left ventricle (LV) remains an unresolved problem. Of the many echocardiographic parameters used to evaluate diastolic pressure, the left atrial strain and strain rate (LA S/SR) have shown promise in clinical settings. However, only a few previous studies have evaluated LA S/SR in larger populations.

Patient Safety Climate in Danish Primary Care: Adaption and Validation of the Danish Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ-DK-PRIM).

Background: A lack of instruments to assess patient safety climate within primary care exists. The objectives of this study were as follows: 1) To adapt the Danish hospital version of the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ-DK) for use in primary care; 2) Test the internal consistency and the construct validity of this version; 3) Present benchmark data; and 4) Analyze variance.

Methods: The SAQ-DK was adapted for use in Danish primary care settings (SAQ-DK-PRIM) and distributed to healthcare staff members from nursing homes (N = 11), homecare units (N = 4) and healthcare units (N = 2), within the municipality of Aarhus, Central Denmark Region, Denmark.
