The presence of pollutants like uranium and arsenic in the groundwater can have a terrible impact on people's health (both radiologically and toxicologically) and their economic conditions. Their infiltration into groundwater can occur through geochemical reactions, natural mineral deposits, mining and ore processing. Governments and scientists are working to address these issues, and significant progress has been achieved, but it's challenging to deal with and mitigate without adequately understanding the different chemical processes and the mobilization mechanism of these hazardous chemicals.

Background & Objectives: Nanotechnology, an emerging field, has acquired considerable attention for the control of vectors. The present study aimed to synthesize, characterize copper sulfide- and eucalyptus oil-based hybrid nanoemulsions and investigate their larvicidal potential against Aedes aegypti by studying larvicidal bioassay, morphological aberrations, histopathological alterations, biochemical analysis and evaluation of risk assessment in non-target organisms.
Methods: Hybrid nanoemulsions were prepared by mixing aqueous copper sulfide nanoparticles (CuSNPs) with non-polar eucalyptus oil in five ratios (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5) by sonication, screened and characterized using Transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Concerns over adverse environmental effects have been raised due to Vietnam's reliance on fossil fuels like coal. At the same time, efforts are being made to boost the usage of renewable energy while simultaneously lowering greenhouse gas emissions. This study examines whether there is an environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) relationship between gross domestic product (GDP) and coal consumption in Vietnam by controlling for renewable energy consumption and oil prices from 1984 to 2021.

Cell surface protein-carbohydrate interactions are essential for tissue-specific recognition and endocytosis of viruses, some bacteria and their toxins, and many glycoproteins. Often protein-carbohydrate interactions are multivalent - multiple copies of glycans bind simultaneously to multimeric receptors. Multivalency enhances both affinity and binding specificity, and is of interest for targeted delivery of drugs to specific cell types.

Over the past decade, the nano zerovalent copper has emerged as an effective nano-catalyst for the environment remediation processes due to its ease of synthesis, low cost, controllable particle size and high reactivity despite its release during the remediation process and related concentration dependent toxicities. However, the improvised techniques involving the use of supports or immobilizer for the synthesis of Cu has significantly increased its stability and motivated the researchers to explore the applicability of Cu for the environment remediation processes, which is evident from access to numerous reports on nano zerovalent copper mediated remediation of contaminants. Initially, this review allows the understanding of the various resources used to synthesize zerovalent copper nanomaterial and the structure of Cu nanoparticles, followed by focus on the reaction mechanism and the species involved in the contaminant remediation process.

Although much has been discussed about the link between renewable energy, globalisation and carbon dioxide (CO) emissions, yet the impact of total factor productivity (TFP) on CO emissions is less known in the existing literature. Therefore, the present study considers TFP as one of the determinants of CO as it is believed that technological enhancement plays an essential role in improving the environmental quality by raising efficiency in energy use and pollution treatment. In contrast, it may also have unfavourable impacts.

To devise an appropriate climate policy dealing with environmental degradation, reliable measurement of CO emissions is essential. In the recent past, most researchers have utilized production-based emissions in their studies, ignoring the important role of consumption-based emissions in environmental degradation. Therefore, the present research examines the drivers of consumption-based CO emissions in SAARC nations over the period 1990 to 2018.

A significant unmet need exists for the delivery of biologic drugs such as polypeptides or nucleic acids to the central nervous system for the treatment and understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. Naturally occurring bacterial toxins have been considered as tools to meet this need. However, due to the complexity of tethering macromolecular drugs to toxins and the inherent dangers of working with large quantities of recombinant toxins, no such route has been successfully exploited.
