Background And Aims: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia that occurs following ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and can significantly impact clinical outcomes. We investigated the incidence and predictors of AF following STEMI in patients, as well as its association with major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE).
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study, including all STEMI patients who presented under code 247 to Tehran Heart Center between 2016 and 2020 and completed a 1-year follow-up.
Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) affects millions of individuals worldwide. In severe cases, it can cause life-threatening conditions such as left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction, mitral regurgitation (MR), and sudden cardiac death, making surgical treatment necessary. This study aimed to report the long-term outcomes of HCM patients undergoing septal myectomy or mitral valve replacement (MVR) and compare the results between different types of surgeries.

Increasing the RGA dose in WC films from 5% (WCA5) to 10% (WCA10) reduced hydrogen bonding between polymers and polymer homogeneity in the matrix according to FTIR and SEM. Tensile strength slightly declined in WCA5 from 7.

In the line of our previous studies, we have reported a developed sensitive and selective probe for cyanide detection based on Ag/FeO nanoparticles (NPs) with an extremely low limit of detection at the level of ng per milliliter. Herein, we report the improvement of the easy-to-make magnetic silver nanoparticle-based sensor system for cyanide determination in an extended calibration range with higher selectivity and precision. As far as our knowledge is concerned, the detectable linear range from 1.

Background And Aims: The prospect of using artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare is bright and promising, and its use can have a significant impact on cost reduction and decrease the possibility of error and negligence among healthcare workers. This study aims to investigate the level of knowledge, attitude, and acceptance among Iranian physicians and nurses.
Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study was conducted in eight public university hospitals located in Tehran on 400 physicians and nurses.
Background And Aims: Considering the increasing prevalence of dental services in the community and the impossibility of identifying each infected patient, hand sanitation is the most critical factor in controlling infection in these centers. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of educational intervention on the hand health behavior of the staff of Tehran dentistry clinics based on the health belief model (HBM).
Methods: In this quasi-experimental study in 2017, 128 employees of the health centers were selected through a multistage sampling method and they were placed in two groups of intervention and control (each 64 people).
Background And Aims: Anal fistula (AF) with cryptoglandular origin tends to recur, and multiple risk factors are implicated. Recently, some magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings with predictive value for disease outcomes have been proposed. These intrinsic anatomic features include those of the AF and its surrounding structures.

Background And Aims: As a debilitating disorder, spinal cord injuries (SCIs) can bring about a range of physical, psychological, and social consequences in individuals and even have effects on their lifestyle indicators. The present study was thus to reflect on lifestyles among people with SCIs developing from accidents and disasters.
Methods: Using a meta-synthesis of qualitative research, all articles recruiting qualitative methods to examine patients with SCIs, published from 1990 to 2020, were retrieved by the researchers, good at the Persian and English languages, from the databases of ScienceDirect, MD Consult, Pedro, ProQuest, PubMed, SID, MedLib, Magiran, Scopus, Google Scholar, Iranmedex, the Cochran Library, CINAHL, and Blackwell, tapping the keywords of "spinal cord injury, SCI, manmade disaster, natural disaster, content analysis, concept analysis, thematic analysis, lifestyle, quality of life, QoL, grounded theory, meta-synthesis, mixed-methods research, historical research, ethnography, and phenomenology" in both languages for their inclusion in this study and further analyses.
Background And Aims: To evaluate biochemical abnormalities and their association with the outcome of hospitalized coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients at a tertiary referral center in Iran.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on COVID-19 patients who were admitted at tertiary referral centers in Tehran, Iran, from March 2021 to 2022. Demographic and biochemical laboratory data of the patients including blood sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium were collected from patient treatment sheets of severe COVID-19 patients admitted to a different ward of the hospital.
Klippel-Feil syndrome (KFS) is a congenital skeletal disorder with classic clinical triad consisting of short neck, low hairline, and limitation of neck movement. In addition to skeletal deformities, diagnosed cases of KFS may have other anomalies such as cardiac, neurologic, and genitourinary disorder. We report a case of KFS with associated anomalies such as short neck, limitation of neck movement, scoliosis of cervical spine, and dextrocardia who received successful cadaveric kidney transplantation.

Cardiac surgeries in adults usually use cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) for cardiac protection and provide a blood-free field for operation. However, due to changes in tissue perfusion and ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), there are some side effects for CPB operations. Lipid peroxidation and compromised antioxidant defense are consequences of IRI.

The novel organic-inorganic nanohybrid superparamagnetic (γ-FeO@CPTMS-guanidine@SOH) nanocatalyst modified with sulfonic acid represents an efficient and green catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of quinazolin-4(3)-one derivatives three-component condensation reaction between anthranilic acid, acetic anhydride and different amines under microwave irradiation and solvent-free conditions (4a-q). XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, TGA, VSM and EDX were used to characterize this new magnetic organocatalyst. Outstanding performance, short response time (15-30 min), simple operation, easy work-up procedure, and avoidance of toxic catalysts can be regarded as its significant advantages.
