A theoretical study on electrical current fluctuations in a double quantum dot connected to electronic reservoirs is presented, with the aim of deriving the finite-frequency noise, the Fano factor and the Δ-noise. We establish a general expression for the noise in terms of Green functions in the double quantum dot and self-energies in the reservoirs. This result is then applied to model double quantum dots in various situations.

Rising carbon dioxide emissions are provoking ocean warming and acidification, altering plankton habitats and threatening calcifying organisms, such as the planktonic foraminifera (PF). Whether the PF can cope with these unprecedented rates of environmental change, through lateral migrations and vertical displacements, is unresolved. Here we show, using data collected over the course of a century as FORCIS global census counts, that the PF are displaying evident poleward migratory behaviours, increasing their diversity at mid- to high latitudes and, for some species, descending in the water column.

The mosquito-borne alphavirus o'nyong-nyong virus (ONNV) has proven its potential to cause major human outbreaks. On the African continent, ONNV causes unspecific febrile illness and co-circulates with the close relative chikungunya virus (CHIKV). Children with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as developmental coordination disorder (DCD), exhibit gross to fine sensorimotor impairments, reduced physical activity and interactions with the environment and people. This disorder co-exists with cognitive deficits, executive dysfunctions and learning impairments. Previously, we demonstrated in rats that limited amounts and atypical patterns of movements and somatosensory feedback during early movement restriction manifested in adulthood as degraded postural and locomotor abilities, and musculoskeletal histopathology, including muscle atrophy, hyperexcitability within sensorimotor circuitry and maladaptive cortical plasticity, leading to functional disorganization of the primary somatosensory and motor cortices in the absence of cortical histopathology.

The excited-state dynamics of the GFP chromophore, HBDI (anionic -hydroxybenzylidene-2,3-dimethylimidazolinone), were investigated through a combination of theoretical nonadiabatic molecular dynamics (NAMD) simulations and femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (fs-TA). The NAMD simulations revealed that the primary dynamics in excited states involve the formation of a P-twisted intermediate (S), which undergoes pendulum-like oscillations with respect to ϕ = 90°. This motion serves as a reservoir for the excited-state population and the primary source of fluorescence.

Aims: FGFR-fused central nervous system (CNS) tumours are rare and are usually within the glioneuronal and neuronal tumours or the paediatric-type diffuse low-grade glioma spectrum. Among this spectrum, FGFR2 fusion has been documented in tumours classified by DNA-methylation profiling as polymorphous low-grade neuroepithelial tumours of the young (PLNTY), a recently described tumour type. However, FGFR2 fusions have also been reported in glioneuronal tumours, highlighting the overlapping diagnostic criteria and challenges.

The aim of this study is to synthesize indolo[2,3-]quinoxaline-4-aminoquinoline-based hybrids and evaluate their effectiveness against chloroquine-susceptible (3D7) and resistant (W2) strains, with expected inhibition of chloroquine resistance transporter (CRT) and heme. The hybrids were synthesized and evaluated against both susceptible and resistant strains. Molecular docking and studies were conducted to assess the binding affinities for the CRT protein.
