The hollow porous microspheres assembled with BiOCl nanocrystals were successfully synthesized via a facile spray solution combustion synthesis method. The microstructure, morphology, absorbance, optical properties of the samples were investigated in detail. The results show that hollow porous BiOCl microspheres have narrow band gaps (2.

The particulate contamination degree of aviation coolants (ACs) is overestimated commonly because the bubbles in ACs are erroneously recognized as particulate contaminants during the measurement process. In this work, the factors that influence the foam behavior and contamination degree of ACs are investigated. It is evidenced that the foam behavior of ACs is basically unaffected by the ratio of glycol to water of the base solution, which, however, is highly influenced by the organic additive.

Common bacterial pathogens have become resistant to traditional antibiotics, representing an indispensable public health crisis. Photodynamic therapy (PDT), especially when common visible light sources are used as photodynamic power, is a promising bactericidal method. Based on the special photodynamic properties triggered by commonly available light emitting diode (LED) lamps, a kind of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) based composite system (termed GQDs@hMSN(EM)) was prepared through loading both GQDs and erythromycin (EM) into the hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticle (hMSN), aiming to achieve joint antimicrobial effect.

The effect of cosolvent on trace free water in the determination of the contamination degree of jet fuel was investigated. The interference of trace free water on the automatic particle counter can be eliminated by adding isopropanol as a cosolvent to the measured oil sample. Isopropanol can dissolve trace free water in oil.

Effect of Temperature on the Composition of a Synthetic Hydrocarbon Aviation Lubricating Oil.

Materials (Basel)

April 2020

Unit 94923 of People's Liberation Army of China, Wuyishan 354301, China.

Synthetic hydrocarbon aviation lubricating oils (SHALOs) gradually degrade over time when subjected to high temperatures, resulting in their composition and properties varying over the operation lifetime. Therefore, understanding the SHALO degradation properties by elucidating the mechanism on a molecular level, as a function of high temperature, is of interest. A SHALO was subjected to thermal treatment (TT) at 180, 200, 230, 250, 270, or 300 °C for 2 h.

Sulfur-Doped Alkylated Graphene Oxide as High-Performance Lubricant Additive.

Nanoscale Res Lett

January 2020

Key Laboratory of Coal Processing and Efficient Utilization, Ministry of Education, China University of Mining & Technology, Xuzhou, 221116, People's Republic of China.

Sulfur-doped graphene oxide (SA-GO) prepared by sulfuration and alkylation of graphene oxide is applied as an efficient green anti-wear additive for harsh operation conditions of engines. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis reveals the sulfur content of octadecylamine-modified SA-GO (sulfuration follows alkylation) is increased by 79 times compared with the reverse process that alkylation follows sulfuration, suggesting the preparation route is a key factor of the sulfuration process. The higher sulfur content and -C-S-C- sulfur bonding constitution result better lubrication effect, while the investigation of chain length of alkylation modification and concentration of the alkylated sulfur-doped graphene oxide indicates the octylamine-modified SA-GO shows smaller diameter of wear scar within the concentration range between 1 × 10 and 2.

A Lamb Wave Wavenumber-Searching Method for a Linear PZT Sensor Array.

Sensors (Basel)

September 2019

School of Mechatronic Engineering and Automation, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200444, China.

In this paper, a wavenumber-searching method based on time-domain compensation is proposed to obtain the wavenumber of the Lamb wave array received signal. In the proposed method, the time-domain sampling signal of the linear piezoelectric transducer (PZT) sensor array is converted into a spatial sampling signal using the searching wavenumber. The two-dimensional time-spatial-domain Lamb wave received signal of the linear PZT sensor array is then converted into a one-dimensional synthesized spatial sampling signal.

An UPLC-MS-based metabolomics investigation on the anti-fatigue effect of salidroside in mice.

J Pharm Biomed Anal

February 2015

State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Technology (Jiangnan University), School of Food Science and Technology, 1800 Lihu Road, 214122 Wuxi, China. Electronic address:

An ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight-based metabolomic approach was developed to study influence of salidroside, an anti-fatigue ingredient from Rhoiola rosea, on urinary metabolic profiling of rats to a single dose of 180 mg/kg per day. Unsupervised principal component analysis (PCA) and supervised orthogonal pre-projection to latent structures discriminate analysis (OPLS-DA) on metabolite profiling revealed obvious differentiation between the salidroside treated groups and controls in both positive and negative ion modes. Eleven urinary metabolites contributing to the differentiation were identified as anti-fatigue biomarkers: N-acetylserotonin, 2-Methoxyestrone 3-glucuronide, Taurine, Melatonin, Sorbitol, Geranyl diphosphate, Z-nucleotide, Cortisone, Dihydrocortisol, Sebacic acid, Pregnenolone sulfate.
