The suprascapular notch represents a depression on the lateral part of the superior border of the scapula, medially to the coracoid process. The current paper presents a systematic review with a meta-analysis of the suprascapular notch morphological variability. Related clinical implications were further discussed as well to emphasize the value of the topic.

Objective: Salicylic acid (SA) has been used for treatment of acne of different severity levels. However, there are few researches about the safety and efficacy for treatment of mild to moderate acne, and the improvement of the skin condition by using 2% supramolecular salicylic acid (SSA) compared to Davuwen Adapaline gel.
Methods: A multicenter, randomized, assessor-blind and parallel-controlled study was conducted.

Endometriosis involves the growth of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterine cavity, with its manifestation in the rectus abdominis muscle being exceptionally rare and primarily observed in women with a history of abdominal surgeries. In this report, we present the case of a 42-year-old female with a medical history of two cesarean sections who presented with cyclical abdominal pain and a palpable mass in the right lower quadrant. An MRI scan of the pelvis revealed a lesion on the right lower quadrant of the abdominal wall, proximate to the previous Pfannenstiel incision.

We report an unusual, rare case of opacification of the hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) 23 years after the initial surgery with significant visual deterioration. Opacification of the hydrophilic acrylic IOL was primarily due to the formation of folds on the surface of the lens material, and less so due to calcium phosphate deposits. Calcification opacification can be attributed to recent events, as evidenced by deposits of dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (CaHPO2HO) and octacalcium phosphate (CaH(PO)5HO), both of which are transient calcium phosphate phases, converting hydrolytically to the thermodynamically most stable hydroxyapatite (Ca(PO)(OH)).

Robotic arm-assisted total knee arthroplasty (RATKA) represents a haptic assistive robotic arm used for bone preparation. The purpose of this study was to present implant survivorship, complications and evaluate patients' satisfaction, clinical and functional outcome of RATKA with a minimum of 1-year follow-up. The Oxford Knee Score was recorded preoperatively and at last follow-up.

Background: Exposure to high-altitude conditions during flight or similar activities affects many aspects of visual function, which is critical not only for flight safety but for any altitude-related activity. We aimed to summarize the available literature pertaining to ocular changes during flight or equivalent short-term high-altitude exposure (e.g.

Purpose: Anterior compartment muscles of the arm present high morphological variability, with possible clinical significance. The current cadaveric report aims to describe a bilateral four-headed brachialis muscle (BM) with aberrant innervation. Emphasis on the embryological background and possible clinical significance are also provided.

Background: Previous studies have shown that visible light (VL), especially blue light (BL), could cause significant skin damage. With the emergence of VL protection products, a harmonization of light protection methods has been proposed, but it has not been widely applied in the Chinese population.
Objective: Based on this framework, we propose an accurate and simplified method to evaluate the efficacy of BL photoprotection for the Chinese population.

X-linked retinoschisis (XLRS) is an inherited retinal degeneration affecting males, characterized by splitting of the retinal layers. We herein present the outcomes of surgical treatment in a case of XLRS complicated by rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). A 22-year-old male presented to the emergency department due to decreased visual acuity and visual field defect in his left eye Oculus Sinister (OS) of 1 week duration.

Robotic-arm-assisted total knee arthroplasty (RATKA) with the MAKO system minimizes deviations in implant alignment and yields superior precision in implant position compared to a manual total knee arthroplasty. In this comprehensive commentary, we present and categorize the limitations and pitfalls of the procedure and we also provide recommendations for avoiding each limitation. The main surgeon-related limitations include prolonged operation duration, loose insertion of the checkpoints and pins, wrong registration and mapping, and damage to soft tissues during bone cutting.

Purpose: Acute Achilles tendon tears in young active individuals are often treated surgically with prolonged rehabilitation, with the leg initially immobilized in plantar flexion in serial non-weight bearing casts and gradually progressing to full weight bearing. This study aimed to evaluate the safety of an early functional unsupervised rehabilitation protocol.
Methods: The medical records of 25 patients treated with open repair were available for follow-up.

The most prevalent zoonotic disease is brucellosis, which poses a significant threat for worldwide public health. Particularly in endemic areas, spinal involvement is a major source of morbidity and mortality and can complicate the course of the disease. The diagnosis of spondylitis is challenging and should be suspected in the appropriate epidemiological and clinical context, in correlation with microbiological and radiological findings.

Purpose: The pan-cancer presence of microsatellite instability (MSI)-positive tumors demonstrates its clinical utility as an agnostic biomarker for identifying immunotherapy-eligible patients. Additionally, MSI is a hallmark of Lynch syndrome (LS), the most prevalent cancer susceptibility syndrome among patients with colorectal and endometrial cancer. Therefore, MSI-high results should inform germline genetic testing for cancer-predisposing genes.

The B-Raf proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase (BRAF)/ mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) targeting agents have become the treatment of choice for BRAF-mutated melanoma during the last decade. However, it is possible that some long-term adverse events of these drugs have not yet been reported. A case of bilateral spontaneous, non-traumatic, supraspinatus tendon rupture in a 65-year-old Caucasian male suffering metastatic melanoma under prolonged and successful combination treatment with dabrafenib plus trametinib is presented.

Background: The TsiogkaSpaeth (TS) grid is a new, low-cost, and easy to access portable test for visual field (VF) screening which could be used by clinicians in everyday clinical practice. Our study aimed to determine the validity of an innovative screening grid test for identifying neurological disease-associated VF defects.
Methods: We enrolled two groups of participants: We assessed the one eye of ten consecutive adult patients with different types of neurological disease associated VF defects and ten eyes of controls in each group.

Septic non-union in long-bone fractures represents a challenging clinical entity. Management of lower extremity segmental bone defects, aiming to restore functional anatomy, remains extremely difficult and controversial. Masquelet technique is a reconstruction method for large diaphyseal bone defects, based on the notion of the induced membrane.
