Transalveolar sinus elevation is a minimally invasive technique aimed at augmenting the vertical bone height in the posterior maxilla, facilitating successful implant placement in areas with insufficient bone volume. This study compares the efficacy of osseodensification and piezoelectric internal sinus elevation (PISE) techniques in delayed implant placement. The primary objective was to radiographically assess vertical bone gain and bone density, while secondary objectives included clinical assessment of primary implant stability and post-operative satisfaction of both patients and operators.

Precision medicine has gained considerable popularity since the "one-size-fits-all" approach did not seem very effective or reflective of the complexity of the human body. Subsequently, since single-omics does not reflect the complexity of the human body's inner workings, it did not result in the expected advancement in the medical field. Therefore, the multi-omics approach has emerged.

Gamma oryzanol (ORZ) is a nutraceutical that is poorly water soluble with poor intestinal absorption. In the current work, ORZ was nanoformulated into uncoated and chitosan coated micelles based on methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone) (mPEG-PCL) and poly(ε-caprolactone)-b-methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL-PEG-PCL) copolymers for augmenting ORZ oral delivery. The physicochemical properties, morphological study, in-vitro release and safety of the nanoplaforms were determined.

Thrombocytopenia and platelet dysfunction commonly occur in both dengue and COVID-19 and are related to clinical outcomes. Coagulation and fibrinolytic pathways are activated during an acute dengue infection, and endothelial dysfunction is observed in severe dengue. On the other hand, COVID-19 is characterised by a high prevalence of thrombotic complications, where bleeding is rare and occurs only in advanced stages of critical illness; here thrombin is the central mediator that activates endothelial cells, and elicits a pro-inflammatory reaction followed by platelet aggregation.

Background: Debonding of ball attachments is one of the complications that annoy teeth supported overdenture wearers. The polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) polymers are widely applied in the dental field. The purpose of the current study was to compare the tensile bond strength of ball attachments made of such materials and the commonly used titanium ones after 5 years of overdenture insertion and removal (5000 cycles) in addition to chewing simulation (1,200,000 cycle).

Background: Correct choice of the implant design and the occlusal scheme is important for the success of implant supported restorations. So, the aim of the current study was to find out the difference in the stresses induced by the one piece dental implants designed to be used in the All-on-4® concept and the conventional two piece ones under simulated lateral occlusal schemes using nonlinear finite element analysis.
Methods: Two finite element models of the maxilla, implants, and prostheses were designed according to the All-on-4® concept.

The thrombotic thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), a complication of COVID-19 vaccines, involves thrombosis (often cerebral venous sinus thrombosis) and thrombocytopenia with occasional pulmonary embolism and arterial ischemia. TTS appears to mostly affect females aged between 20 and 50 years old, with no predisposing risk factors conclusively identified so far. Cases are characterized by thrombocytopenia, higher levels of D-dimers than commonly observed in venous thromboembolic events, inexplicably low fibrinogen levels and worsening thrombosis.

COVID-19 was first reported in China, in November 2019 and since then the spread of this disease was so rapid that on March 11, 2020, it was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Due to the high transmissibility of the COVID virus and the associated morbidity and mortality, various International and National health authorities released different guidelines for day-to-day living, laying down "new norms" which has impacted our lives enormously. Although these guidelines seem to be convoluted but owing to some differences in the guidelines, it raises an ambiguity in the minds of dentists.

Dendritic cell (DC)-derived exosomes (DC EXO), natural nanoparticles of endosomal origin, are under intense scrutiny in clinical trials for various inflammatory diseases. DC EXO are eobiotic, meaning they are well-tolerated by the host; moreover, they can be custom-tailored for immune-regulatory or -stimulatory functions, thus presenting attractive opportunities for immune therapy. Previously we documented the efficacy of immunoregulatory DCs EXO (regDCs EXO) as immunotherapy for inflammatory bone disease, in an model.
