This research investigates the potential of utilizing types of construction waste as partial cement replacements within concrete formulations. Notably, granodiorite and ceramic powders were introduced at varying substitution ratios. The impact of these waste materials on the compressive strength and radiation shielding effectiveness of traditional concrete was evaluated under both ambient and elevated temperature conditions.

The urgent need to address the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance in multidrug-resistant bacteria requires the development of pioneering approaches to treatment. The present study aims to evaluate the antimicrobial potential of the essential oils (EOs) of Moringa oleifera (moringa), Cinnamomum verum (cinnamon), and Nigella sativa (black seed) and the synergistic effect of the mixture of these oils against Staphylococcus aureus MCC 1351. Statistical modeling revealed cinnamon oil had the highest individual antimicrobial potency, followed by black seed oil.

Background: Glyphosate is an extensively employed herbicide in agriculture, specifically for sugarcane cultivation. The situation is different with the extensive physiological and genetic effects exerted by this herbicide on a range of plant species, including sugarcane, whose model basis is still poorly characterized, although its primary mode of action, which acts on the EPSPS enzyme in the shikimic acid pathway, is completely elucidated. The current study was aimed at investigating the stability of glyphosate formulation, molecular interactions of glyphosate formulation with rbcL enzyme associated with chlorophyll metabolism, and its effects on varieties of sugarcane.

Background: The peroneal artery is known to give branches to the anterior and posterior tibial arteries. Scattered reports in the literature over the last decade failed to provide solid evidence as to the optimum strategy for below-knee targeted revascularization in limited-option patients with critical limb-treating ischemia (CLTI). We sought to determine the benefit of performing single peroneal tibial artery angioplasty revascularization compared with single non-peroneal angiosome-targeted tibial artery angioplasty revascularization for patients presented with CLTI.

Background: The low-density lipoprotein receptor () is essential for regulating intracellular cholesterol levels. Mutations in the gene can cause a increase in LDL cholesterol levels in the blood, elevating the vulnerability to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study evaluated the correlation between the rs688 polymorphism and CVD risk in chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Introduction: Marie-Unna hereditary hypotrichosis (MUHH) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by a specific pattern of hair loss. Initially described in 1925 by Marie-Unna in a German family spanning over seven generations, MUHH represents a previously unidentified form of congenital hypotrichosis. It typically presents as sparse hair at birth with a coarse texture, followed by regrowth during childhood then, finally, gradual hair loss at puberty, resembling pattern of androgenetic alopecia.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different preparation depths (0, 2 and 4 mm) of different restoration designs (classic endocrown design versus overlay design) on marginal adaptation of restorations fabricated of two different restorative materials (lithium disilicate and PEEK).
Materials And Methods: Sixty mandibular natural molars were collected as abutments for the restorations of this study, and grouped in three main groups of different cavity depths (0, 2 and 4). Each group was divided into two subgroups according to material of fabrication to (L) for lithium disilicate (IPS emax CAD, Ivoclar vivadent, Switzarland) and (P) for PEEK (Bio-hpp, Bredent, Germany).

Arrhythmia is a common and serious global health problem, contributing to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The cardiac muscle is susceptible to ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, which can lead to fatal arrhythmias during open-heart surgery. We investigated the potential prophylactic effect of angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7) using an in vivo rat model of I/R injury and examined the underlying mechanisms.

The increasing demand for natural alternatives to synthetic fungicides has prompted research into natural products like essential oils for postharvest disease management. This study investigated the antifungal, antioxidant, cytotoxic, and genotoxic potential of essential oil mixtures derived from oregano, rosemary, and mint against Penicillium digitatum, the predominant fungal pathogen causing green mold in orange fruits. Introduction: Gut microbiota alterations have been implicated in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), yet the mechanisms linking these changes to ASD pathophysiology remain unclear.
Objectives: This study utilized a multi-omics approach to uncover mechanisms linking gut microbiota to ASD by examining microbial diversity, bacterial metaproteins, associated metabolic pathways and host proteome.
Methods: The gut microbiota of 30 children with severe ASD and 30 healthy controls was analyzed.

The quality of CT images obtained from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is complex, affecting diagnostic accuracy, precision, and radiation dose assessment due to increased exposure risks. The study evaluated image quality qualitatively and quantitatively by comparing quality levels with an effective radiation dose to ensure acceptable quality accuracy. This study retrospectively reviewed 100 known HCC patients (Li-RADS-5) who underwent multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) multiphasic scans for follow-up of their health condition between January and October 2023.

Unlabelled: Despite the remarkably high antioxidant activity of tocopherols, their applications in the food industry are limited because of their instability under various conditions. Complexes of α-tocopherol (α-TQ) or α-tocopheryl acetate (α-TQA) with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) or starch were prepared and characterized by UV-vis, IR and thermal analysis. Oxidative stability of α-TQ and α-TQA against HO was 74.

One of the main goals of forensic medicine is the successful identification of unidentified bodies. This is essential in mass disasters, criminal medicolegal investigations, and most cases of deaths with poorly preserved remains. This study aimed to assess the accuracy of anthropometric determination of handprint versus footprint dimensions for sex and stature estimation in a sample of the Egyptian population and to formulate equations for stature and sex determination using hand and footprint anthropometric measures.

This work aimed to synthesize a new acetyl triazolyl uracil (UT) compound and subsequently utilize it to obtain a new chitosan-based Schiff base polymer (CH-UT). The new derivative was characterized using elemental analysis, FTIR, HNMR, XRD, TGA, DSC, and SEM analyses. Both UT and CH-UT were evaluated for their antibacterial activities against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Objectives: Reporting the histological effects of chronic stress on certain oral tissues, as well as the capacity of Thymus vulgaris (thyme) to protect tissues from stress and link both serum cortisol and serotonin levels.
Methods: 30 rats were randomly divided into a trio of groups: normal control (no treatment), stress group (chronic stress without treatment), and treatment group (chronic stress treated with thyme at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW orally via needle gavage daily for 21 days). At the end of the experiment, tongues and major sublingual glands (SLGs) were surgically removed and processed for histological and histochemical studies.

: Drug delivery systems (DDSs) offer efficient treatment solutions to challenging diseases such as central nervous system (CNS) diseases by bypassing biological barriers such as the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Among DDSs, polymeric nanoparticles (NPs), particularly poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) NPs, hold an outstanding position due to their biocompatible and biodegradable qualities. Despite their potential, the translation of PLGA NPs from laboratory-scale production to clinical applications remains a significant challenge.
