Purpose: The purpose of this trial was to compare the effectiveness of standardized outpatient cardiac rehabilitation combined with treadmill power walking versus standardized outpatient cardiac rehabilitation alone on health-related quality of life (HQoL), functional exercise capacity (FEC), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and metabolic equivalent of tasks (METs) in patients who went post coronary angioplasty (CA). Further this study evaluated the association between average numbers of steps taken with above clinical outcomes.
Methods: In a pragmatic sequential randomized clinical trial, 24 patients were randomized into two groups (n = 12) and participated in a standardized outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program (SOCRP) with treadmill power walking as an intervention group and SOCRP alone in control group.

Background: The Cardiac Surgery-Associated Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (CSA-NGAL) score has been developed to stratify patients with cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury (CSA-AKI). Its predictive power needs to be validated to guide clinical decision for such high-risk patients.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 637 consecutive adult patients who developed postoperative AKI after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.

COVID-19 has been repeatedly related to a variety of extra-pulmonary manifestations since its emergence. COVID-19-positive patients have been shown to develop neurological deficits, deep venous thrombosis, acute kidney injury, acute hepatic injury, and myocarditis, among other conditions. The mechanism of some of these injuries remains unclear, but one factor that has been revealed is hypercoagulability.

A best evidence topic was written according to a structured protocol. The question addressed was: In patients with mesothelioma who develop a local recurrence after macroscopic complete resection (MCR) surgery, does performing a second radical surgery lead to improvement in survival? A total of 2076 papers were identified using the reported search, of which 3 represented the best evidence to answer the clinical question. The authors, date, journal, country, study type, population, outcomes and key results are tabulated.

Incidence of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) among children with primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) varies among different studies. We published data during the period of 1997-2007 of ICH in children with primary ITP, addressing risk factors and outcome. The aim of this study is to assess changes in incidence, risk factors, and outcome of ICH in children with ITP from last decade and to report the overall 20 years' experience.

This study aims to describe prevalence and clinical significance of latent Brugada syndrome (BrS) in a young population with atrial fibrillation (AF). Between September 2015 and November 2017, among 111 AF patients below 45 years of age, those without pre-existing pathologies and/or known risk factors were selected for the study. Based on baseline 12-lead-24-h Holter electrocardiogram (ECG), previous class 1C antiarrhythmic drug therapy, or ajmaline testing, patients were stratified as latent type 1 BrS or not.
